2.8 custom wire harness??
Are there any companies out there that make a harness to swap in a FI 2.8 in place of a carb'ed one? It would really simplify this project of mine!

Engine: L98
Transmission: 700R4/4L60 same trans different name
i doubt it............
check out ebay for a used one, or try the local junkyards
either that or look for a 2.8 MPFI f-body that is in sad shape (shouldnt be too hard to find) and use it as a parts car
thats probably your best bet

Forget it!
I rebuilt a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, and the wire harness had the following legend: "Hecho en México" (Assembled in Mexico).
The labour cost for assemblie a lot of small wires is too much for USA.
Buy the wires, covers, connectors, etc. and make you own harness.

CHVYPWR, what car are you eliminating wires from? The carb'd car or the MPFI car? I figured you would just swap the whole engine wiring harness over and that would be it; no? (When I say engine wiring harness I mean the one that comes into the engine compartment from the passenger fenderwell.)

Tom, I'm eliminating wires for the Camaro's harness. Systems like headlights, wipers, turn/hazzard lights, basicly everything that has nothing to do with engine controls. Then, graft that into the Jeeps system. I think thats where I may have got you going -->
, I'm putting this Camaro MPFI 2.8 in place of the Carb'd, non-computerized 2.8 in my '86 Jeep Wagoneer.
Thats why I'm eliminating systems from this harness, I dont need a bunch of extra crap stuffed under the dash of my Jeep. Theres hardly enough room in the dash to run stereo wires
I dont drive a thirdgen, but my Jeep will have the heart of one

They are located on 1137 W. Katella Ave.
They did this swap back in 1990 in Sport Truck magazine. Used a 1985 MPFI as foundation.
They drew a diagram.
Their test bed was a 1985 S-10 Blazer to a 1985 MPFI induction system on the carb'd Blazer.
I have that issue as I'm gonna install the 3.4 SFI stuff under my 85 Blazer hood one day (too tempting, I got all the stuff).
It's buried or else I'd xerox it and mail ya copy.
They can help ya.
Gain was 20 HP & gas milage shot up also.
DO IT!
I will be also, one day.
My test bed for this swap will be a 1985 Federal 2.8 carb S-Series Blazer Truck to 1995 3.4 SFI induction/ignition.
My federal version truck has no computers at all.
I know, get the wire cutters!
One day, one day.
Maybe one day after I install the 1965 Corvette Fuel Injection on the 1974 Corvette!!

Give a shout if you have no luck.
The 1985 MPFI set up is the most basic & generic of all the MPFI units GM made.
I'll dig thru mag boxes to locate if you have no luck.
PS Anaheim, CA MAY have changed area code.
I don't recall the "other" right now.
Just an FYI
