V6 Firebird vs cavalier
V6 Firebird vs cavalier
Okay i was thinking the other day i can put all the money i want into my car but it'll never handle on these windey WV roads. My bro who owns a body shop and fixes cars to sell and has had his eye on it cuz he's kind of a collector and said he could put me in a newer Z-24 for it. For about 1000 bucks i can get a RK sport body kit for it like below instead of buying the stock body parts to fix it and it'll look just as bad as my bird does and they have about 15 or 20 more horesepower stock. They don't make crap for V6 F-bodies but i'v already found out about a turbo charger that'll make a cavalier over 200 hp and with some other mods could hit 300+ range easily.U can call me a sell out if u want but i'm thinking More Hp stock,FWD,more mods available, the obvious advantages of having a newer car.So whatta u guys think?

Sorry but I wouldnt have that Banana boat ,Sci-fi , Star Trek , ***** wanna be looking thing parked in my driveway. Whats the wing for anyway the Space shuttle. That kinda stuff just doesnt turn me on. I ve seen these ricers going down the highway with these huge wings on them thinking dont they realize their cars would be faster without them (wind drag). you could use a much smaller wing and have enough down force for keeping the rear of the car down in the corners. They just look rediculous.

yeh, those are kinda nice.......i think that the import craze is simply a fad, one that'll be around for a while, but once companies are manufacturing cars that look like the aftermarket ones stock, people will soon lose interest, and they'll lack some of the appeal they have right now. The thirdgens are a classic car, that from any stance has a grand touring appeal to it, and stock for stock i'm sure that the little firebird/camaro will win in a turning contest over the cavi. There really isn't any downfall to rear wheel drive as long as you drive like you've got some sense, and learn how to drive b4 thinking you can. But either way, with six cylinder torque a posi axel should have the ability to hold that little car on the road in even the worse conditions. But for whatever you decide good luck, if i was trading up though, it'd be in a 4th gen f-body with a LT1 or LS1 v8. but that's just me.
What they said, Rice Pudding - What TomP said, checkout the adds in - performance Pontiac, or such mag - Polygraphite front end kits $150... If you deside not to drive a 'maro or bird - be original , build up your own car, with your own Ideas.
If front wheel drive cars are so great - howcum nobody drives one in NASCAR??

.........oh yeah, the car club that fears right turns :sillylol: The dodge daytona used to be an IROC, but that didn't last too long.
Do what you want to do. If it means selling the bird, make sure it goes to a good home. We will hold you responsable. One thing to remember though,.....a cavalier is a cavalier, but a firebird is a car

Neither the V6 thirdgen's nor the Cavalier's are made for performance. And for just a car (I know the guys will hate this) I'd choose the one you posted only if you truly plan to turbo it. I don't like the way they look stock though. I love turbo cars no matter what platform. Why would I choose the Cav over the thirdgen? Well, newer cars simply ride smoother. I like the low maintenance (although with a turbo, you'll have maintenance issues) and the smoothness of the ride. I haven't ridden in a cavalier for a while, but the last one i rode in was ok. i don't like the interior design as much tho. i do like my friend's 2002 Cougar. It's nice.
Guys don't be pissed...i still love thirdgen's.
BTW, lose the wing on that car tho. Wings & Stickers are GAY.

You should see the old wagon that drives around town every once in a while; damn, I would love to see what motor's in that thing. Sounds mean as hell, and it can roast those huge rear tires, too!
