I asked this on the Body & Interior section....

I'll ask this question, here, too.

I have to remove my rear bumper cover, only-nothing below the bumper, just skin. I found perfect replacments in a yard
I know about those 4 nuts in the interior deep sides, rear.
Do I need a 10mm Deep socket & extension & rip everything rear panel outta the way....
What about behind those tail lights?
Are there attachment points, there, too?
I see the bottom outside quick pins, about 7 or more.

Thanks Guys!
I need a rear bumper cap & I'm also grabbing driver front fender. Fender is 10mm & one 15mm bolt, easy!! About 15 minutes removal work.
Probably Fiero Valve covers, too!
I need two sets ya know!

I looked for a perfect front nose.
I almost found one, but I saw a tear.
These panels I scoped out are perfect, no cuts/tears, dents.
I just sand & rattle can paint!
I'll be out about $60 or less
Pep Boys Body Shop Beige spray paint is a "Perfect" match!!
Cheaper than Earl Scheib!
The spray cans go for about $4/can.

To get the rear bumper cover off you need to:
1) remove the tail light lenses. Just undo the big "wingnuts" and they should just pop out then remove light bulbs.
2)Remove the 6 nuts (10mm I think) on the inside of the fender well (or whatever its called).
3)Take out the push pins on the bottom
4)Take out the push pins on the top. They are under where the tail lights were.

I used a floor jack and 2x6 to hold up the bumper cover while I took the fasteners out to make sure that it didn't try to tear.

I'll probably be doing this again tonight so if I miss anything I'll let you know. I need to get the Bird masked off so I can start with painting again.

THANKS DALE,
The inside ones require the deep socket 10mm & couple extensions...
Cool!
I gotta travel light in the yard tomorrow.
License plate area is one area of concern.
Attachment there is in question.
I have to examine mine better, today.
The front fender removal is so easy.
Tail light removal is a breeze.
Those wing nuts are a great idea.
How do I remove the middle section, please?
Same wing nuts and remove from car?
I'm concerned about "lock" part.

No prob, Karl

The center section of the tail lights is held in by the two side parts, don't worry about it. When you get both lenses out the center comes right along for the ride. The lock is part of the metal body, the center piece just fits over the top, they are not attached.

If you mean the license plate area on the rear bumper, there are no attachments there other than the 2 screws for the plate itself. It amazes me how little actually holds the bumper skin on - 6 nuts and a handful of push pins.

If you want, I can put up some pics tonight while I take it apart. Getting the rest of the interior out of the way is the worst part of the whole ordeal.

That would be appreciated.
I'm gonna do a "Headliner" job, too.
Just read that part.
Kinda easy.
Awkward, true!
Thanks for the tip on the center lense part. Hoping it was that easy. Never removed center part, yet.
Still trying to figure out an add on remote trunk "opening" set up. I found an electric solenid one on a Fiero.........
I like reliable cables, tho.

Here are the pics as promised.

This one shows the nuts from inside the car (pass. side) There are 3 on each side and they are 10mm (deep socket recommended)

This pic shows how the lenses fit together. The inner most studs on the lights go thru the center piece then are attached with the wingnuts from behind.

Here is a pic with the locations of all the fasteners circled for reference. This is all of them I had to remove to get it off. I used sidecutters to pry up and pull out the push pins.

Finally, this is a pic of the lock. It is not attached to anything but the body. It has nothing to do with removing the lights or bumper skin.

I did this all about 20 min. ago so I am pretty sure the info is accurate Hope that helps.

Dale

EDIT: Boy, I wish I could spell.
