New day.. new problem..too hot when cold
It was sitting all night.. and it rained out so everything was cool.. I turned it on and 2 seconds later the engine temp dummy light comes on and stays on.. turn it off.. turn it on.. still on.. get to work.. off and on.. light still there..the coolent barely went up in the bottle so the engine wasn't that hot.. and how could it get hot in literally 2 seconds.. anyone know what causes this?.. the SES doesn't come on...

Sound like it could be three things. Fix them all and she'll run cooooool.
1. Get a new temp sending unit and check the wiring that goes to it. the sensor is about 10 bucks and is in the driver side cylinder head
2. Flush and refill the rediator with fresh coolant 50/50 mix
3. Change the thermostat (about 3 bucks)
Stick with it!!

Not the MAF... the coolant temp sensor located in the drivers side cylinder head behind the AC compressor
