can i beat a 97 or 98 saturn sc2 with a cat back and air intake sys. with a ...

i have a 4th gen but its still a camaro so we all should be cool
a guy i know has a 97 or 98 saturn sc2 with maybe a cat back...so i heard it was but i think it might just be a muffler and he has an air intake system , i have a 94 camaro of course with about 125k on it and all i have done to it was put flowmaster muffler on it and i have 91 3rd gen rims on it from my friends rs b/c it looks better b/c the tires are bigger then mine and they stick out so it gives it a more aggresive look and stance, (does anyuone know if those are lighter then the z28 rims of the 1st body 4th gen) but i want to know who's going to win when i race

My neighbor has a 2 door sc saturn. Several of us were going to dinner a few months back and he was mildly taunting me as we caravaned to the resturant. He jumped me off a light by about a car length until I hit it and still beat him by about a half a car length in probably just under a 1/4 distance. I have a 2.8 with about 22,000 miles on the new motor ( not rebuilt) This car runs flawlessly. The motor is fairly stock w/ a completely upgraded ignition and elecronics. Everything underneath is fully built including the aftermarket trans(This car pulls over a G in the twisties.)

My friend has a SL2 which I am almost 99% sure, someone correct me if I am wrong, has the same Twin Cam Motor. He has a K&N Intake on it and I can tear him up all day long. For me there is no compitition.

I have a friend with a 94 Twin Cam Saturn and he beats me almost every race! And I've never been beat by another Thirdgen V6 Camaro yet! ARGH. But this is third, not fourth gen. Not to mention my tranny holds in 1st really bad..that's when he passes me. D*mn lightweight top-end cars..... I HATE SATURNS!

I feel I should mention that NO ONE around here modifies their thirdgen V-6's beyond a muffler...

My dad has a 94 SL2, which I like to abuse every so often. What's really funny is it's a manual, and there's a light that tells you to upshift for best gas milage. I always joked that I was gonna rewire it to come on a 6000 RPMs. One day I took it to redline (about 6500) and I'll be damned the shift light came on again at redline. And it actually is different based on the gear. But those twin cam saturns come in around 124 HP. They're slow as hell until about 4k, and then damn do they kick in.

Yeah..here's how our races used to go: I'd beat the **** out of him off the line and up through first...over a car length. Then, as my car hangs in first gear horrifically long, I hear his whiny little engine hit 2nd hard and....whoosh...he's a length and a half ahead of me. In a split second. It's ridiculous. Now he beats me off the line...my tires are bald so I spin for a second or two before I gain traction.

You might wanna check out www.saturnspeed.com They've got guys on there running turbos, and all sorts of stuff. It's almost identical to this site, except it's all about saturns. They've got a few guys that are clocking in at 200+ HP.

Well that's all just dandy....but I still hate Saturns. ACTUALLY, my friends and I have a sort of car club going on and we want to make a club project car...and we're thinking the Saturn that kicks my *** would be a nice starter car...it has definite ***** potential. He just degreased his entire engine and it looks brand new...just needs mods, and some interior/body work..no big deal. I'd rather have go than show..

Well I'll be damned, my old club is back online? Wow! Looks like v8fbody.com didn't survive, though. Hey, maybe I'll join it again!
