Bad day today..

At lunch my Transmision started slipping... Bad. It could barely get into Drive. It kepped on slipping untill it got into it.

After school driving home the tranny slipped a couple times 2-3 shift.. Then my SES light came on. *** damnit. Went to the store, got a drink lol... went out to start the car, started. idled at 800 rmps cooled down to 600, then it rocketed up to 2000RPM then stalled. What gives? I tryed to start it again; Turned the key; started; stalled.

At lunch I honked my horn and blew my intereor fuse I think. My radio isn't working, neither or my radar or interior light. Why the hell would honking my horn make my fuse blow lol.

Hopefully I dont need to get a transmission... Cause the bird will be off the road for a long time...

Ever find out what code was thrown? Maybe the failure of a component made you think your trans was slipping...

I didnt have time to check the code.

Its at my moms work and I am driving the GMC Safari LoL.

Ok this is what happend.

Goining along in 2nd gear; got to 2500 where it usually shifts; it Jerked from 3000rpm-2000-3000-2000-3000-2000 then got into Drive.

I Have to read the tech article ro read the codes after work. I get off at 1030.

Does that sound like trans is slipping? I dont know much about cars.

Its gonna heat up and wear out your rear brakes a lot, not to mention the fronts ones a lil too. Its gonna heat up your tranny pretty bad. Its gonna melt off all the tread on your tires. It probably wrecks havoc on your driveline as well. It costs money to *** around...don't find out the hard way.

here in america its called "power braking" why? cause it only works if you have power brakes.

did you bother to check your tranny fluid???? They act funny like that whens it too low.

Sounds like either a tranny mount or your rear-end has got too much play in it. Theres a lot of V6 people here plagued with the tranny mount problem lol.

this tranny mount you speak of....is it as simple as jacking up the tranny, removing the mount and replacing?

It was that simple to do it on my '81 malibu so it should be the same deal with our cars.

Basically, yes, jack car up, take 3-5 bolts loose, jack up tranny a bit, slide old out, slide new in, (I suggest getting all bolts in if you can before you set tranny down and attempt to tighten all them) lower tranny, tighten all bolts, set car on ground, drive away. Recommend in a week or so checking bolts again.

Tranny mount shouldn't be anything hard... My car didn't even have one, it was the 2nd repair I did. The first was to replace the radiator that exploded 15 mins after I first drove the car. I don't think the horn is tied in with the interior stuff, so that's kind of odd. Were you running anything from your cigarette lighter? On my car, the cig. lighter, interor lights, and car's computer command control system are all tied to the same fuse..*** knows why.. I pop the sucker everytime I try to run something from the lighter. I don't think the horn's connected though, that's strange. Is there a hackjob wiring down in your fuse box? Eddie, powerbrakes are bad for just about everything...lol, obviously the tires, but it heats up and isn't good for the transmission..our transmissions run abnormally hot as it is..bad design I guess. Not only that, but I believe it messed up the torque converter...can churn things up, although the tc doesn't see much damage as long as your rear tires are spinning. If they're not, that damages it...but when they are spinning, it wears and heats the drums! Bad all the way around..I should know..I do em all the time.

I've ALSO heard it's not good for the vehicle speed sensor and such, but I'm not so sure on that..wasn't from the wisest of individuals. Not to mention he drives a Saturn and not an F Body....

The fuse for your horn is the same fuse for your dome light and cigarette lighter, so if it blows, all those components will go out.
