Q: for those who have done the custom CAI, what did you use to connect the intake hose to the throttle body? The 3" black flex tubing @ Lowes is too big & the 2" is waayyyy to small. Is there a 2 1/2" tubing somewhere?

 

I went to Lowes and got a 60* elbow in the plumbing section.It is 3" inner diameter if I'm not mistaking.I was going to use an extra snorkel i got from the junkyard and cut it about 2" in front of where the tube coming in from the valve cover(crankcase valve i think)and place the elbow right there and go to Autozone and get a 3" ventilation tubing.Its ribbed and extends to 72".Cut to length when you get it for a custom fit.It runs about $12.Hope this helps.

 

I used the stock flex hose, since it had the breather tube going into it, and then stuffed my CAI into it. I'm sure it takes some power away, but shouldn't be too much.

 

I just stuffed the 3 inch 90 elbow over the factory rubber tube hose whatever you call it. And it was a good and tight fit. As far as the sensor I drilled a 5/8"'s hole in the pvc pipe and screwed the sensor in it. Havent had any problems. And you can hear the sucking sound the TB aka intake makes.

 

3" PVC elbow worked fine for me. It was fairly snug but I epoxied it to make sure it didn't go anywhere. (Go ahead, call it ghetto, but I like it. And it works.)

Wow, looks like you're really close to where I work (I work in Beavercreek, at SAIC in Colonel Glenn Hwy., across from the base.

The CAI actually did turn out pretty nice though for costing me like 40 bucks, and it does look a lot better in person than with that crappy camera.

Yeah, luckily mine is speed density so I didn't have to worry about the MAF sensor...
