Diff between an '88 and a '92

I've got the entire gauge cluster out of a '92 25th anniv... um.. how hard would it be to put it into my '88 2.8 SC?

do a search on the body and interior board...several recent threads about just this.

on to the meat....there are some fitment issues the new cluster is a bit different. As far as the guages...did your original cluster have full instruments, or just speedo, gas, and stupid lights? If you just had stupid lights it gets more complicated...because you have to start screwing with sending units. The biggest stumble is the speedo your 88 has a mechanical speedo, the 92 had an electronic one...so you would have to invest in a conversion unit or something similar. Next did the 92 cluster come from a 6 or an 8, because the tachs are different. In a nutshell it isnt easy. IMO if you just want to get full instruments instead of the cheesy lights...get a cluster from a 89 RS. If you want the updated look too...its gonna be some work.

No, I got the full gauges already (I can't stand idiot lights. When they go off, you've ALREADY OVERHEATED!)

Just looking for a more updated look. But that's ok, maybe I'll just sell this guage set, then.

LOL!

Yeah personally I like the look of added-on gauges better than a stock cluster, only problem is finding a good spot to put 'em in! I want to add a trans temp sensor and an air/fuel meter, but don't know where to put them so that (A) I can see them and (B) they don't look like I stuck them to the dash with chewing gum. (Yes, the a-pillar is used already, been like that for 5 years)

you pulled it out of a V6 car correct?

otherwise your tach is going to be useless
