Fiero Valve covers

Well we finally got them on. We got the valve cover gaskets for a fiero and it worked on my car. So far so good no leaks. We had to rob some studs off a fiero motor to get all the bolts in place. We left off the long ugly clips that you have to use with our stamped steel covers.

Shot of them on the fiero:

Here they are stripped and repainted in candy apple red, with the fins on the top polished instead of brushed as they are on the fiero.

for that air filter, do yo have a hood scoop ramming air into that? what happens if rain gets in, and how would one stop rain or any other water from getting into the air filter?

I have the Suncoast Ram Air hood. The built a baffle within the hood scoup that deflects 99% of the water from reaching the filter. But using a K&N filter like I have will further reduce any whater problems due the filter being oiled. So a properly oiled K&N filter would be the best way to protect your motor from the water. Check my sig pic and you will see the hood.

Really there is only as much gain as a cold Air induction set up. You will rarely feel any difference from a cold Air to Ram Air unless you are going 100+. But to answer your question, I did notice quite a bit of difference when I went to it. The stock intake is so bendly and restrictive that just freeing up the intake allowed the car to breath and get as much air as it needed. But you would achieve the same results with a cold Air induction system.

I went a step further and have ported the plenum, runners, lower intake and heads. I also have a high flow 2.5in cat and flowmaster exhaust. I can't say yet what difference all of this has made. See at the same time we swapped to a more agressive cam and larger injectors, so the car still needs to be tuned to meet its full potential. But HP numbers are up beyond stock, so it didn't hurt thats for sure!

I hope for your sake that is no longer a daily driver, I would hate to have to clean it after a good downpour. You definately have hours of hard labor into it. Very Tasteful Job!

Thanks! Well it still is my daily. And I looked at the bay the other night after all the rain and its a mess. A good rince and some wiping and it will be fine though. Even if you get no rain. The dust gives you some work at each show.

For those who wanted to know about the master cylinder chrome res cover. It is made by Mr Gasket. Summit carries it as well. Its teh same for all GM cars with the plastic res.
