My progress on 3.4l
Here it is, stripped down, and freshly painted.
Working on getting CASH for timing chain and gaskets. Both very needed. Got my proper oil pan in, cleaned up. Ready to find place to chrome it. KED, will call that place next week you told me about
Let me know what you think. Painted candy blue!!! Stands up to 400 deg.

Ask me how to have fun & remove the bottom crank gear!
Looks good.
MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT DISTURB THE TIMING GEARS UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO SWAP THE NEW SET & TIGHTEN DOWN.
That way, never outta sych.

Right, I'm not pulling gears or flywheel off tell I am ready to swap out for new ones.
Looks like it will be x-mas or so before I have the cash to buy the timing chain and gaskets
Soon after that I will be hot to trot on finding a engine hoist

All the hoist for rent require a 100 deposit, 35 buxs a day, and require it to be TOWED. No throw in the trucks. I am sure I can find one at a pawn shop, or watch the paper when I get some cash.
Plus, I have been told I am rebuilding a classic mustang in a few years after I get a house and shop. Will need one then, rather just own one.

I I saw not long back ADV had them for $200, and if there is a retail outlet near you Harbor Frieght tools has a folding one for $151, but that may have been a grand opening price at our local branch. Either way, the folding takes up little space when not being used.

you could do what I did: find someone who has one& borow it. Guy I got it from wasn't using it @ the time, & builds race cars so he was more than happy to let mee use it. FOR FREE!!! Ask around, maybe a friend of a fried of a friend might have willing to let you use it for free, or $35 for the job

Already been trying that project, I know of one person, and I will do my best before I ask them to use it. I am trying to "ditch" some of my old "friends". I would rather buy new then to deal with them. Thanks for the tips both of ya.

Good point on ditching the "friends", I borrowed the cherry picker from a guy I work with, he's a friend until he gets his butt in a sling at work, then suddenly the forty year old starts acting 15 and pointing fingers at everyone else.
Your better off buying stuff yourself especially since you will likely have more projects in the future.
If this attatchment works, here's my current hoist. Portable, and can plow the driveway to boot!
