Annoying cops

Ok, heres the deal. My friend's dad works at a fertilizer plant. Nothing big, just a place that sells anhydrous. Anyway, tonight he and I drove out there in the camaro because he wanted to show me what his dad does out there. Anyway, we ge there and notice lights on in the building. We drive around and he shows me what his dad does, and we notice the lights turned off. Anyway, we are just pulling back on to the highway and all of a sudden these headlights are right behind us. We see that its not a cop, so we get on the highway and floor it back towards town. The guy in the pickup behind us keeps up. We think nothing of it and drive through town. We see the cop sitting in the grocery store parking lot, and he follows us with his headlights off. Then he turns his cherries on and we pull over. He asks uss if we had been out there about 8:00. We say yeah because he was showing me what his dad did at work. So he says fine, I believe you. Then he says I had to stop you because someone reported your license number. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, someone was spinning ****ites out there and broke a window because there is gravel all around it. Has anyone had any similar experiences like this, and should I think anything of it?

Thanks

There was one time when I just got my car and I parked it at a park. I was removing the temporary sticker from the inside of the hatch, but I could not rip it off enough from the ground so I had to climb in the hatch to remove it. I left my screwdriver in the trunk - I closed the hatch and then I stupidly tried to push the hatch back up while it was closing. Needless to say that the power pull down didn't work anymore and I didn't have any tools to turn the lock motor off. I was able to close the hatch, but the motor was still trying to pull it down.

So I spent an hour just looking at the motor trying to figure out if I could fix it till I got home. I kept closing and opening the hatch to see if I could get the hatch to close all the way down.

Appearently a couple drove by and saw me when I was in the car, and they drove by again when I was opening and closing the hatch. Next thing I know 5 cop cars show up and they start giving me the third degree. Talk about overkill.

It turns out the couple reported me to the police. It didn't help that I was wearing a stained wife beater, some ripped jeans, and a beanie hat. It looked like the cops were upset when my records checked out. The cops said Ok, and let me go.

I was mad at first until I realized how it looked from the couples and police's perspective. Now that I look back on it - I am thankful because this goes to show you that some people car about what happens to your car. Actually, this is more of a positive experience with the police.

Since then, I have had no problems with the police. In fact, most of the time they just look the other way for violations that I commit. I even passed 2 active police cars going over the speed limit on a 4 lane road. I still get nervous when cops turn towards my direction though. When that happens I drive 1-2 mph faster than the speed limit so I don't look suspicious. Its funny how slow other people drive when they see a cop in the same lane.

I HATE people that go below the speed limit when cops are near. If the limit is 40, they can't ticket you for doing 40, j@ck@ss. That's my schpiel. If a cop is near, and the limit is 40, I do 40. No less, sometimes 1 mph or 2 more.

I got two cop stories....once about 10 years ago my best friend (at the time) and I were sitting PARKED in a parking lot waiting for someone so they could follow us to my bud's house. We waited a 1/2 hour or so and got tired of waiting so we left.We get across the 1st lane of traffic and are in the median when the blue lights flash behind us.Apparently someone from inside the resturant we were parked at called the cops and said we were spinning tires. My buddy smoked menthols and the cop was trying to say he smelled pot.And of course we were "detained" behind the car as he searched the camaro when what happens? The girl we were waiting for drives by with he mom.We were let go since we didn't do anything wrong but I had alot of explaining to do to the chicks mom!(It was the 1st time meeting mom and I was wanting to make a good impression...I made a impression alright!!LOL).....Next story happened to another friend a couple months ago.He lives a little out in the country so he was driving home one night at 12:30 with no one but him on the road,he was tired ,and afraid of animals running out in front of him so he was driving pretty slow(he says 40 in a 55).He notices a car flying up behind him and it gets on his rear so he slows down more and moves to the shoulder so the car can pass(its a 2 lane road).Bluelights!!!He gets a ticket for blocking traffic due to driving so slow!!!He was the only car on the road!!!The cop saw him drive by and chased him down because he was driving too slow!!!!

When my motor blew in my Firebird,
I was driving from Santa Monica to Santa Paula for fixing it..
One time I was escorted from one end of Malibu to the others by the CHP on the Pacific Coast Highway
They even did "U" turns in the road to follow me.

My Crime
Only car on the road.
Only Corvette on the road
Only car on the road at about midnight.
Only car on the road with a cracked rear bumper cover for my rear bumper, YET I made sure the license plate lites worked.
PLUS I drove slow (40 MPH in a 45) windows down signing for their entertainment, to keep myself awake.
After they left me I had a good laugh.
Honest, I had like 5 CHP cars follow me.... 2 coming opposite direction then doing U-turns to "escort me!"

Previous week I was pulled over (by Malibu Courthouse) for doing 50 in the 40 MPH zone.
The CHP guy let me go, tho.
I exlained I was tired, hadn't seen my kid for two days (all truth)
The kicker why he let me go......
I was covered in PLASTIC SHEETS SO WHEN IT RAINED I WOULDN'T GET TOO WET AS MY CAR LEAKED LIKE THE CORVETTE T-TOPS DIDN'T MATTER AT ALL!
And I was driving ahead of the rain storm (coming my direction from north heading south) that was happening that night, which is why I was going faster.
He chuckled alot, I think, at the sight of the plastic sheets that were wet!

Haven't been bothered alot lately.
THANKS COPS FOR LEAVING ME ALONE FOR A CHANGE
But I need the practice for the excuses!
Luckily where I relocated too, the cops are to predictable, I know where they hide for the radar traps which I endorse they do on these residential streets.
AND I ALWAYS/STILL HATE SANTA MONICA COPS STEALING MY MONEY-ESPECIALLY THE PARKING PIG PATROL.

Thanks for all the great replies. This really pissed me off. We weren't doing anything, he was just showing me around. He comes beside the car, dosen't even ask for license or proof of ownership and insurance and says driver and passenger step out of the car. We get out and the cop tells us to put our hands on the side of the camaro while he shined his flashlight inside. But I understand now because of the broken window due to ****ties and my friend telling me after the ordeal that they have had anhydrous ammonia stolen from out there. I guess in his perspective he had a reason to stop us. The way he had us get out of the car without asking for our licenses or proof of insurance and registration, and making us put our hands on the car just shocked me, I guess. Thanks anyway everyone.

My friends and I had parked my 89 V6 outside some woods, and had a campfire going. We were building a hut to camp in that night. Well some people saw the smoke, called the fire dept and cops. We all had long hair and death metal t-shirts and what not, and weren't the cleanest bunch of guys you'd seen at the time. So they said the hut we were building was actually for animal sacrifices, searched us, saw rolling papers in my friends wallet, put us in the back of the cop car, and used that as an excuse to tear apart my car looking for drugs. They couldn't get my trunk to open (shocks were worn) so they didn't tear that apart thankfully...

Those guys were just *******s. Seriously.

i remeber at a stop light, seeing a 5.0 behind me, or i thought because of the light setup, so i put my camaro in neutral, rev and wait for the light to change green, when it does i peel out, and the car behind me keeps up, so i gas it and hit 60 in a 35, to where he wasn't on my ***, then all of a sudden i see cop lights flashing, I WAS RACING A COP!~!, they just flickered on for 2 seconds, and then turned off, i drove for a little bit, not wanting to pull over, i would just say i ddin't see his lights the first time and wait till he put them on a second time, he never did, guess it was my luck he let me go!

Jesus..you got lucky. Cops around here would get you for: noise pollution, wreckless driving, street racing, and speeding. Which equals probably thousands in fines, possible jail time, and definite license suspension for probably a few years.
Cops here are asses. I was calmy doing 44 in a 30 once...got hit with a radar...pulled over as soon as they flagged me..was all nice and curteous...and I got a $138 ticket.

I missed seeing this story
BUT
IN LOS ANGELES AREA
Cops are pulling over cars because the cop is suspicious of AFTERMARKET ALTERATIONS OF ENGINES DISABLING THE FACTORY POLLUTION EQUIPMENT.
The "lead in photos" they showed Hondas as the target!

Ha ha ha...well when you've got a fart can so loud that you can't possibly have a cat converter on it, and you blow dark smoke all around town.......you're setting yourself up for emissions cops. It's Hondas...who cares...

If there is one thing you should like about R____rs its that they draw attention away from us.

I guess I am the only exception to never having bad experiences with cops nor being pulled over.

Ask Fast RS
It can filter down

Or if lucky recepient
Can you say "Trickle Down"!

Be aware, a car can be removed from the road for illegal emisson infractions.
NOT DONE OFTEN
but it could come that way.....

This fact, alone, should make ya "Alert"
Argue all ya want, once a cop is pissed at ya, you've lost, on the spot.
You get to argue later on (court if it goes that far) but, too bad by that time.

mmmm cops, the first and only ticket i got came a month after getting my car (i had been driving for 2 years already, though, just didnt have my own car). anyways, it was night, i was on a little rural two lane near where i live, and some guy was just RIDING my ****. now, there is one spot on this road that the cops love to sit in with their radar, so i calmly do the limit with this guy tailgating me until i pass that spot and see that it is clear. now it was dark, and all i saw was headlights, and he was sooo close that i couldnt tell what kind of car they were on.....sooo naturally i sped up, and i was kind of peeved, so i really sped up, until i was doing 70 in a 40, and THAT is when i see flashing lights behind me. the bastard cop was tailing me, waited until i reached my maximum speed, and THEN pulled me over. of course, being a new car owner, i thought it was better to be polite and cooperative, never thought of the word entrapment. and the best part, the cops argument was "what if a kid were to run in the street chasing a ball" but it was godamn midnight!

from that day on, no traffic cop has had my respect.

5 of my best cop storys were i got pulled over remeber this is the top 5 out of the 26 times ive been bulled over.

5 Hesitating on makeing a right turn at a light at 2 am i wasent on the sidewalk is what the cop basicly said to me.

4 No front licence plate gave the cop permission for him to make me open my hood and give me a ticket for no frotn licence plate and modified air intake. Fought it in court both charges were dismissed no court fees to me.

3 GOt pulled over for doing a 66.5 foot burnout a 180 almost hitting 2 parked cars and 3 pedestrians none of wich happend he wrote me a ticket for exabition of speed and as a misderminer i foguht it in court had a public defender and a jury the judge after 2 days on trial dismissed the ticket.

2 Ther other one is i got pulled over for doinf 45 in a 45 zone and the cop said i was going too slow.

1 The best one just happend 2 weeks ago i was pulling out of blockbuster i made a right turn and i see a cop flip a bitch he then follows me and pulls me over for no front licence plate well thats fine. Well Right after he pulled me over he tells me to get out of the car i get out i see 2 more copcars comming im all WTF to my self well long story short for a hour they insisted i was on METH im all ive never done that **** they are insisting i did i keep sain i didnt they gave me field soberity tests up the *** passed all of them then they say they can take me to jail cuz im on meth i tell them to go ahed and ill sue them for false arrest. They finaly let me go after a hour of there damn harassment.

BTW fight your tickets out of the 26 times ive been pulled over i have fought all 3 tickets i have won 2 and lost 1. I think that is a good record and all 3 times the cop showed up in court.

wow...there are quite a few cop stories out there...i only have a few which have resulted in me never getting pulled over...coming home one nite on a stretch of highway that is notorious for RI state troopers to be on...and RI state troopers can be real badasses on top of it..well...there was a car tailing me...and i was already doing 65 which was the limit...now...unfortunately i wasn't in my bird, yet my dads lincoln mark 7 which has a mustang 5.0 in it...so the car finally decides to pass me after i have slowed down to **** him off...i see him make the move and i punch it...when the car pulls up next to me its a friggin statie...he gave me the dirtiest look i have ever seen...then strangely a thumbs up and sped off...i quickly took the next exit and went home the long way...i have also smoked tire in right in front of cops with my v-6...they pretty much just look the other way and do nothing...ricers are big in my town...and the cops around here are young and where in highschool in the 80's when the birds were the hot cars of the time...i guess they're just remembering when they where young and let us get away with stuff...but man o man do they target the hondas around here...they hate those little buggers...
