If you every seen a pontiac 301 turbo you will get my idea. Thake the driver side manifold or (header) then connect it to the passenger side on on the outlet side remove the egr and save for later. make A pipe that will connect to the turbo from were the egr was. I know that is a little restictive but untill a specal header is made YOu will need to use that. next hook the turbo to that pipe. then hook the compresd air to the engine and the ehast side of the exast to the back of the car. THe egr valve needs to be after the turbo so you dont suck up the exhast needed for boost the hardest parts to fabacate is the passinger side pipe from the manifold and were to place the turbo Let me think a bout this some more and I will come up with some more ideas. I will use a small turbo from a 4 banger new yorker. Any body else that has ideas please feel free to say them.

 

Seems like a good idea, but you have to keep in mind of all the other stuff you going to need electronically after you install this turbo. But the general idea you have is good, but I think many have had this idea. But like Tomp said many have tried all have failed. There has been a lot of people venture into this, but no one has ever given us a finished product.

Also I just took a course in Thermodynamics, and well after taking that, I realised how little I knew about intercooling and turbo charging, so jumping in on this might not be the easiest thing. As well as a nightmare in computer tuning.
