OK so I’ve been told I need to have a computer diagnostic run
Can you give me some ideas where I could go to get this done other then the dealership and about how much it will cost???????

Go here and then click on "Miscellaneous Info". This will tell you how to do it yourself and shows all of the diagnostic codes for our cars. All you need is a small piece of wire.

My Ignition Control Modular recently died while I was doing 75MPH on the freeway.
This occured after I passed someone.
I safely exited the freeway.
Upon stopping I checked engine & only saw a wiff of smoke from distributor area.
Curiously, I downloaded the codes.
Code 34 & code 45 (a new one for my car! OH JOY!).
Needless to say, no spark sure causes those problems.
I'm installing a new good tested ICM today & I'll bet those codes disappear, today, too.
DO NOT LET IGNITION SYSTEM CHECKING be lost on your list of causes of rich fuel exhaust signals to computer.
UNLESS SPARK PLUGS WET OF FUEL, it may well be failing ignition system (FAILING ORIGINAL COIL or becoming WEAKER is #1 on that list of suspects!)
BEST TOOL FOR THIS IS A LARGE STAINLESS STEEL PAPERCLIP found in every office desk draw.

It's truly a simple set up.
Very easy to understand.
AFTER A CYCLE OF THREE codes, it goes to "next code (also shown 3 times)" or back to original "12" code to let you know ALL the problem codes are/have been shown to you.
IN MY INSTANCE.
I just got car running. It was a failied Ignition Control MODULE (TOM P you're good bud!)
I won't even bother to download codes again.
WHY?
I doubt IN MY INSTANCE it is necessary to "clear system".
OTHER TIMES WITH PROBLEMS, I did have to clear the computer for better car performance.
Damn, WIFE WANTS THE CAR ALREADY TO USE......
That's cause I WILL NEVER LET HER DRIVE MY 1974 CORVETTE AGAIN.
She can't see the damn nose on front of the car & she parks/hits things (bump, oh I'll go back now...
) then blames others.
No Corvette for her & that problem is solved EASILY!

LOL, got one worse for ya, my fiance was rearended as she was sitting in her car, parked, in a parking lot. Some wacko backed into her with a minivan. So she gets out, the other 20-something-year-old chick is upset & apologetic-- and my woman let her go!!! WTF? She told me "oh I didn't see any damage." So I take a look. Yeah, no damage, unless you count the big scratch in the rear bumper, and the fact that now, the rear bumper is pushed higher towards the taillights on the passenger side. Probably dented the metal bumper underneath the plastic one. Thank goodness it wasn't my car, because I would've had all kinds of police coming down to that parking lot!!!
You'd think it wouldn't be hard to see a big bright red camaro...
