Deployments

How well I know the feeling. 8 years in Germany. 13 TDYs to Korea. Panama (Jungle Training), Yakima, Moses Lake, Fort Wainwright (Winter Training), REFORGER (4 years in a row). Grafenwohr (4 winters, 4 summers). Places I still can't discuss but I still miss it after 9 years.

Good luck man, my dad leaves for Incerlick Turkey in a few days, first it was normal deployment for 2 weeks for the Iraq no-fly zone, then 3 weeks, now a full mounth at the very least, he is an Air Guard F-16 Crew Cheif and his present for his Msgt promotion was an extended trip to tent city LOL.

I also know a lot of Spec Op guys who got sent over a while back and from what I have heard are still there.

Planman, one of the guys who gave me my survival training was former Delta, he never said Delta just said he was a SF operator who was not a green beret, did a lot of cool top secret things, and was on the other side of the fence at the building with the red roof at Brag. Got other training (medical, navigation, ect ect) from some rangers, and some Berets. I love how they start talking about something really cool and when the good part comes they stop and say well the rest of that is Secret.

Those guys know their stuff!!!!!!!!, I tip my hat to them and all the guys in the cammies

David (future F-16 Crew Dog after I am done with A&P school)

Heres a "military intelligence" one for ya.

Enlisted in VA. Asked to go anywhere but back to Va.
Basic, Chicago
"A" school Peny Fla
"B" Jax Fla
Got orders to a training outfit in Va. Beach(great, 4 hours south of home!)
Checking ut of base, get mixed up T.A.D. orders to Hasuka Japan!?!?!?, Great I will have a blast there!
Anyway I do around 4 1/2-5 months there before they realize, opps, we sent the wrong guy!
Come back, and go to check into original squadron, hell 5 months late. They have me as AWOL!. I see the base duty officer, then the XO of the BASE! He makes calls, canfirms what I was telling them. he then applogizes for almost sending me to jail for who knows how long!
Finally get to the Sqdrn and they say where ya been for the past 5-6 months, I give them the Base's XO number say call him, I am going to the barracks geting a room and gong to sleep.(all this to the same cheif I was under in "B" school!) he treatens to write me up if I leave the building, I saw go right ahead. I will be back tomarrow mourning.
I came back, the dick DID write me up, I went and saw the DIVO(Division Officer) and he ripped it up and sent me back to the barracks to attempt to get settled in.
If I coulda got back to Hasuka, I woulda stayed in, hell I coulda had an EVO7 pumping 700 Ponies for 17K american! Do my tour there, get sent back to the states, have the Navy pick up shipping of my POV(Personally Owned Vehicle) and been high as a kite eating domestics ALIVE!
