OK OK!! SORRY! I gotta ask!!! "HOW FAST?"

Yeah yeah yeah.. I know...
ok, I should have the engine put back together and in the car with a new suspension by mid February.
Here is a list of my mods:
- 3.1 Crank Kit
- .030 Overbore Hypertectic Pistons w/Chrome molybdenum rings
- Phase 2 Camshaft (slight more powerful than the 2030 Crane)
- Ported Factory Exhaust Manifolds - Ceramic Coated
- Accel 19lb Fuel Injectors (new)
- Crane Cams 1.52:1 Roller Rockers
- Ceramic Coated / ported Y-Pipe
- Performance Header pipe
- Ocelot free-flow 3-way Catalytic converter
- 2.25" exhaust - mandrel bent
- Ocelot free-flow muffler (with factory GT exhaust tips)
- K&N Air Filter - w/ water separator removed
- Ported / Polished / Port-Matched - Plenum, Runners, Intake, Heads, Exhaust ports.
- 200 rpm higher-stall torque converter
- transmission mild shift-kit
- All new motor / tranny mounts / driveline absorber / dog-bone
The car in question is a loaded 1987 Pontiac Fiero SE / V6 with the GX3 Automatic (3.33:1 final drive). It weighs about ~2,600 pounds.
I have REALLY decent sticky tires... so the question is... HOW FAST? HOW QUICK? What's your guess?
Thanks!!

What ever it is, it most likely will not be what you hope. If your car truelly weighs 2600lbs, I would venture to guess that you might be breaking into the 15 second 1/4 mile bracket.
Yeah, it's a Fiero, so it weighs on average about 2550 pounds. But I'm assuming that because mine has a lot of extra crap on it, that it's maybe another 50 pounds. Although, I somehow don't think that the trunk release, and power mirrors, and tilt steering, etc all add up to 50 more pounds.
I was expecting around mid 14s in the quarter as a best time.
Stock V6 Fieros usually run flat 16s or mid 15s with a 140hp/175lbs 2.8 V6/60

whoops. I did not see that it was for a Fiero, in that case, that's a whole different story. I think 14s are possible. Fieros don't have that 10% drivetrain loss cause the engine is almost directly mated to the rear end.
I wish GM had not given up on the Fiero. I bet it would have been an awesome car today.
The thing that's soo awesome about the Fiero is that GM REALLY put some effort into the DESIGN of the car. When the final car was released however, many of the parts were SUB-PAR.
For example, the connecting rods.. in the first year, they say that 1 out of every 10 connecting rods in the 4 cyl had a hairline fracture. After like 30k miles or so, the rods would fly apart causing the engine to explode. This is what caused the huge RECALL issue, and the engine fires.
Other than that though, they DID do a LOT of research.....
the ENTIRE engine, transmission, and the entire rear suspension is attached to the car (minus wiring harness and fuel lines) by only 4 LARGE bolts. This is called the "engine cradle" With a regular engine lift, you can attach the entire rear end of the Fiero to a strut brace on the Fiero, and slide the entire rear suspension, transmission, engine, etc all out from the center of the car.
EVEN the balance of the car is near perfect... 47% fron, and 53% rear.
They put a lot of effort and detail in a lot of things... aluminum valve covers, stainless steel exhaust, better exhaust manifolds.
ALL Fieros, regardless of options came with 4-wheel disc brakes, and a 4-wheel FULLY independant suspension.
There are / were TONS of aftermarket parts, etc.
The best part is, that they are SOO cheap to buy now.. you can get a 4 cyl coupe Fiero for like... I dunno.. $500 bucks off eBay?
I mean, the Camaro / Firebird WAS the better car during that time, that's a given... but the Camaro / Firebird is and should have only been a V8 car.
The Fiero however.. as a sports car alternative in the GM line-up, it makes a great car.
When people see a Fiero driving down the road, they usually don't think FIRE... actually, most people honestly don't even remember what a Fiero looks like, so when they see one in NICE shape, they think it's some sort of exotic or something.
Kinda neat!
