Looks like your doing it right
How did you strip paint?? If it was buy stripper/acid, make sure you "neutralize" he acid first, otherwise you will be one
person after you prime and paint it.

Aircraft Remover - that's why I'm gonna do a nice cleaning on it first. Matter of fact, I'm doing that now

Why didn't you fix the current fender? Just curious... the fender didn't look that bad. Did you have to rinse the paint stripper off with water? I never understood that part; to me, water = rust.

Nope, you get the paint stripper off with a puddy knife, and serious scraping. I did the new panel, cuz what you don't see is that the other side behind the ground effects is totally smashed in. I got the panel for $40...
Yeah, it's all rattle can paint/primer. Discount Auto speciality, lol... I'm gonna do another layer of black, with 2 layers of clear coat. If I had an air compressor, I'd get a spray gun in a heartbeat!

That fender looked like he11 till you striped it. Looked factory new then.
I need a parts car myself. I need 2 doors and a left fender.

Plane flights to LA are damn cheap right now.
Bummer is that the airlines charge ya lot for hauling stuff back.
When I did a fender, I just scuffed, primed and layed on paint.
When ya repaint, paint the fender (on something to hold it) as if on car.
When I did my paint, I was a slightly thin on the top of the fender.
I rattle can alot.
Good ol Pep Boys Body shop beige blends in well to the previous owner paint job.
Krylon has a GREAT paint can sprayer.
Ya get to hold the paint can as if it is a spray gun.
And the results show.
I'm seeking another passenger fender.
Damn Wife altered it to much and I'm not a fan of bondo on metal. So I await another fender for the $20 at wrecking yard sale.
