Has anybody heard of the Venom 400 before?

Seems too good to be true, it's available for a bunch of our V6's.

Doubt it would help any more than an aftermarket chip would.. There are much better ways to spend your money.. Although I do admit, it DOES sound pretty attractive after that ad... But 25% power gain from it MODIFYING what the sensor outputs are so it tricks the computer?? Sounds a little strange to me..... As well as the eliminating the downshift flat spot on autos....?

They say 'up to 25%' gain, but they don't tell you how well the engine ran to begin with that they got the numbers from. It could have already been a bit out of tune. It probably would gain you a little bit, mostly by adjusting the fuel and spark curves, but that would probably be more in the 8-10% range, not 25%. They probably also say that you must use 93 octane gas. For people like me who are using nitrous, one of those would grenade the engine, since it would try to advance the timing and then detonation and piston distruction would occur. I think that there are other ways that you could spend money more effectively, performance wise.

I'm 99% sure the Venom was brought up at my old club, v6f-body.com ... I think it was looked into, but never tested.

As far as reducing downshift delay, I don't think it would affect it at all on our cars since I'm almost positive 82-92 autos were all mechanical and the electronic auto wasn't in f-bodys until 93 or 94.

True, true - the electronic trans wasn't offered in f-bodys 'til 93.

Right.... So yeah, this sucker probably has the same type of effect as a replacement chip would...although it's supposed to be able to enhance a chip further.. I just don't see how a little box that modifies the sensor outputs could work WITH a chip. Ok, let's say the programming in the computer isn't the most efficient at making power, which it isn't...ok so by modifying the sensor output, the box tricks the computer into recalculating things and adjusting the car to work the way it SHOULD for power, right..? Makes sense.. BUT, a chip changes that......it's DESIGNED to add performance. So, how would a box that MODIFIES sensor outputs possibly HELP a chip rather than hurt it?
