Bad news, but I'll be on the boards more!

Well this weekend after kicking my timing back MORE, back to 10 degrees stock to run **** gas, I turned the car off and heard a hiss...water vapor shot out of my head gasket. There's oil and GUNK in my radiator. My V8 is no more...it has ceased to be. Parked it on the side of the house and tried to forget about it... So anyways, the good old reliable Camaro will be my daily driver again...hopefully I'll be able to get a better job and make enough money to keep both cars and drive the Camaro til the other car gets fixed. Just figured I'd let you guys know..the Camaro will be seeing the road again. I started it this morning and it fired up in about 1 second or less, after not being driven for a week. Drove like a dream. Knew I missed it for a reason............

That is really too bad.
It sucks when you invest in another car hoping for a better situation, and then it turns out that you were just as well off with your original car.

That kind of sounds like what I was doing except I did not actually buy another car yet. I'll be driving my 2.8l for quite some time too. Too bad about the Stang, could have been fierce.

Lol..well, it WAS fierce..hell, it IS fierce! Has a pretty damn good idle, and runs awesome all the way up the powerband..just misses nastily below 1000 rpms and, well, shoots water out! I'd THINK that a blown head gasket would make the car run crappy..or at least nasty in upper rpms, but that isn't the case with this. Purrs like a kitten even at 6 grand.

lol, Doward
When my 2.8 blew a head gasket and cracked both heads the freaking thing would barely run. But once you got on the gas it got better just like your Stang.

Have you driven a Ford lately???

Have you driven a Ford lately???

Couldn’t help it. Honestly everyone I know who thought they found a killer deal on a mustang ended up regretting it later. No matter how much it got them laid. The only good Ford is a new Ford and even then it won’t last long.

Well you know, I knew I didn't like Ford for a reason. I wore my Chevy Racing hat driving the Mustang before.. Stang goes in the shop tonight to get a COMPLETE look-over....the guy that's doing it was recommended by a bunch of different people including the only local shop that I know about that sells drag racing stuff, like harnesses, slicks, etc. So...wish me luck..over the phone, the guy doesn't think it's the head gasket. Said the car would barely run if it was. Thing just doesn't like to start and misses at low rpms, but thats it. Purrs like a kitten besides that...

90% of all Fords sold are still on the road. The other 10% actually made it home.

Sorry, had to.

Lol... Heard from him today. Good news is...head gasket checks out. Don't know why..don't ask me, I'm confused as hell. But....guy lied, it has no cam...4 fuel injectors are shorted and dumping fuel, coolant temp sensor is bad causing car to dump extra fuel in constantly trying to 'warm up' engine...no fan switch as I already knew, oil pan has a dent in it, differential cover is bent so it's leaking gear fluid..apparently the transmission shop didnt notice when they serviced the f*ckin thing...TPS is messed up, IAC is screwy, all cylinders are 155-160 psi but Cylinder 8 is down to 125 for some reason...the motor WAS a nitroused motor.....there's other problems too, such as bad mounts, shot bushings, etc... It's pretty bad. We'll see how this fix up job goes! Argh.

Damn, when you get all that fixed, I'd think it would be a pretty quick car, since you thought it was already pretty powerful!

Hey man you may want to check your local lemon laws and see if you can make the seller give your money back.

here in ohio we only have lemon laws on new cars but it works. They did that too my mom kinda, it wasnt bad running but they sold her the car for 20,000 then 2 days later the same car was in the paper for 18,000, they knew it was on sale that weekend but didnt tell her. she got all her money back and a new car too beat on for a day.

You gotta watch them mustang's people buy them new and beat the **** out of them from mile 1 till it blows up, then they fill the motor will saw dust and sell it cheap, the problem is mustangs engine and drive train goes before the body.

so you find really nice mustangs cheap that look really good. unlike our cars where the body will rust away before them little 2.8s die.

Ha ha...well the engine is getting a crapload done to it..and yeah it has been beaten the bloody **** out of, which is why Cylinder 8 is down on compression....I mean it WAS a nitroused car, so...of course it's been beaten around..lol...

I hope you get that 5.0 working again. I love the sound of them, they sound light unlike the heavier sounding Chevy 350s.

It does have an interesting tone. Amazing the way the Flowmasters are on the exhaust..they're loud and deep at low rpms but once they get in the upper rpm range they go silent, so all you hear is the engine..it's the damn strangest thing, I kinda dig it though...
