i had all my part to install a really clean cold air intake and when i went to put it on, i realized that the maf was at the front of the intake right behind the point where the two filter runners go into the 3" tube. so now i'm stuck, i'm not sure how to re-install the maf if i was to take it off to install my new intake. anyone here can help that would be awesome, and if anyone knows where i can find some headers that would rock too.

Checked your website- decided I would rather retract my response to you after what I've seen.

The website is funny. I'm glad you have the Ford GT40 as one of your favorite cars.

As for the MAF, you are kind of stuck with it. It makes making the CAI intake you really want more difficult.

By the way, you need your MAF, otherwise you car won't operate correctly, so you can't take it out.

Ah, time to leave for Spring Break!

Ha ha ha.....wow man...that site's a trip. ND....read around a little on the site....no companies manufacture headers, but there is a guy on here with some association with a company that is manufacturing them in limited quantities...they're in the $300 neighborhood if I remember right, but there is a discount for Thirdgen.org members (us)....But these headers do not carry CARB approval and I'm not sure whether they have EGR provisions or not...but I THINK they do.

What kind of intake setup are you running? Need more detail as to your routing plans to "formula a plan" for that MAF...

yeah i was afraid that i wouldnt be able to get rid of it or anything, is there anyway to reinstall it after i take it out, or am i just screwed??? agood, that whole website is a huge joke, trust me, me and all my friends edited our own pages so dont mind the other pictures on there, the pedro ones and the pedro page are mine, but thats it, so dont hate me because of it porfavor, glad you liked it (or hated it), anyways i revamped my profile after that whole fiasco. thanks for the info on the intake though that has been bothering me, i suppose the stock setup is plenty good enough.

PS nixon, its a stock 88, it looks like this >--l_l, and theres a maf right where the two runners come together. thanx

my friend's v6 just broke down, it needs a new 02 sensor for sure, and the 3rd cylinder injector is shot, he thinks it should still run on 5cylinders and that the 02 sensor doesnt matter, i told him i wasnt sure about that but i'd check it out for him. any help would be great

From my experience, your friends car should still run...obviously not well, but it should still be drivable. In my experience, I have 4 cylinders with approx 145 psi, one with about 20 psi, and one with about 85 psi...I've been drivin it for probably 8 mos like this, but I get crappy mileage, and have pretty bad power as you can imagine. I gotta say tho...even in its current condition, I can still spin my tire sometimes without powerbreaking. Hope this helps

O2 sensor busted or missing will cause bad gas mileage...disconnected and the comp will throw some sort of default value...might try to run Open Loop all the time. Down cylinder...will still run. I had my spark plug wires all jumbled so I was misfiring on 2 cylinders...my car still idled smooth even as a 4 banger....it just sounded like it had a cam and the exhaust note was off.

How much time ya got?
Can be so many answers
Could be simple vacuum leaks
lousy coil
lousy ICM/Alternator/MAF
Pull plugs to see if wet from gas is a very simple way to isolate the bad injector
Could even need timing chain
or distributor rebuild.
We can throw out suggestions all day.
