Its on the throttle body, on the very bottom of this pic. It has the brass with plastic connector on it. Theres a tech article that might help you with the IAC, https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/tpimod2.shtml

Did you check the codes? Is it an actual IAC code? That picture IS of the IAC sensor, just doesn't look like a sensor... That's one of the older model ones..the newer ones, the clips come out of the bottom..it's much cleaner. If the old ones are like the newer ones, it's just 2 Torx screws to unhook it..then all ya gotta do is clean it with some carb cleaner and put it back in.

I have that style IAC on my car. Really easy to remove. Just unclip the connector, get a big a$$ wrench, I used as set of Slip-jaw pliers, and unsccrew it. comes right out. Clean it, and put it back. They hardly ever actually go bad, but do get "lazy" because the carbon gets around and into the motor. You can't clean the inside of the motor, so buy a new one is it's just lazy. It'll last you a while. Anyway, sounds like you may be having problems with a vacuum line also. So check those bad boys out while you're under there. Good Luck.

You should go buy a Hayne's manual.
And just so you know, Go's fast isn't spelled gose fast.

The IAC is NOT pointed to on the picture. That picture is showing you how to adjust your TV Decent Cable.

The IAC is IN that picutre. It is the only thing in the picture that is brass. It connects to the throttle body or something.

Cammy, 85SportCoupeto89RS DID tell you where it was in the picture.

Go buy a real shop manual from http://www.helminc.com for you car, it'll have more diagrams then you'll ever need.

Cammy.....IAC valve is located in the same place on 3.1's, but it's designed different. Look at your throttle body, on the passenger side, where the other photo shows. There should be a little thing sticking out of your throttle body sideways...it has a clip going from the bottom into it, and two Torx screws holding the unit down. That's it. Just unhook the clip, and remove the two Torx screws and it wiggles/slides out..although it's in with an O-ring and if the O-ring is old and deteriorated you might need to buy a new one to install it with.

Mike..that's alright..everyone makes spelling errors now and then. Except me. (6th grade school spelling bee champ..4th place county.) :lala:
