Axle/Gears: 3.23? I'm not sure
Code 23

I get 23. Low temperature at manifold air temperature sensor OR Throttle position sensor error.

What does that cause, and replacing it will help my car do what? it accelerates pretty bad, but I think thats because of the Knocking pully, any ideas on that either?

Thanks!

Your throttle position sensor is probably putting out an incorrect value, which will screw your car all up because the computer doesn't know what your throttle position is so it can't really tell how fast you're wanting to go.. Probably affects the a:f ratio. I don't know if you have a non-adjustable or an adjustable TPS. If it's non-adjustable, buy a new one and slap it on..it's really easy but it costs somewhere around $25 if I remember right. Adjustable, I can't help you...I don't know how to set them.

I've never really seen an MAT sensor go bad...that's the little sensor in your filter can if the car is a 3.1, I don't know where it is on a 2.8. Might be built into the MAF..I'm not sure.

FYI, if you do have a 3.1, then you have a non-adjustable TPS for sure. I believe late year 2.8's got them also.

ratdude, sounds like you've got a Haynes manual there... go pick up the REAL GM manual from http://www.helminc.com - it's got diagnostic charts in there that'll blow your mind- and you'll never, EVER hear "code XX means either this part or this part".

All that done, I was pretty sure code 21, not 23, was for MAT- the temp sensor in the air box.

Tom is 100% right, the GM manual for 3rd Gen Camaros is a life saver. Has a kinds of goodies dealing with the smog police equipment. Also the GM manual even gets into theory on how stuff works. If you all ever have time you can sit down and read about how the O2 sensor works and everything. Really interesting.

GM Book

Does any one have access to a scanner or something to upload the codes list? or can someone look up 23 in that lifesaver book? I cannot afford it right now, and I really need to fix my car

Thanks for helping!

Replace the trottle posistion sensor thats your problem. Your symtoms don't match anything else. If the temp sensor was bad the computer puts in a default value but your car RUNs so crapy so it has to be the trottle posision sensor.
