Swap Complete 3.4l Version???
For the ones who helped me on my 3.4l Swap version?? A full L32 install, it is complete!!!
I was working up against my own time clock to get it running for a car show Sunday.
I had alot of last minute bugs.
Loose heater hose line, bad cluster coolent sensor, flywheel hitting my dust guard, no tranny fluid(jamed clutch), grill, still wiring issues, putting dash back together, cleaning, etc etc.
It made it though, Pulled a third place in my class, helping my car club pull 17 trophies.
From what I can tell now, I need the correct VSS, air intake, better plugs. Maybe exhaust leak. It sometimes dies when coming to a stop(need help with that). Also noticed you DO NEED the charcole canister on these engines. HEHE.
I also noticed, I seem to have lost all my low end. I don't think it would spin a tire if I tryed. But I have MASSIVE top end. I may need help later on after all bugs worked out, helping get some of my low end back. All engine internals are stock, only bolt on mods.
But for the ones who helped me thru this swap. Much Thanks!!, Ked85, project 85, I belive tomp helped, Agood, Mods for not blocking my questions when asked. Others I can't even think of.
THANK YOU!!! :hail: :hail: :hail:

Well, I would really much enjoy some of my low end back. Hopefully I can get it back since I plan on doing burnout contest with this.

im thinking of doing this swap too, KED85 said everyone has had trans failure after the swap. let me know if you notice anything. this would really shun me away from doing it, although i may still consider it... who knows.

PLEASE DON'T let my statement about tranny failure get ya goofed up.
IT only means your tranny set up was marginal to begin with.
AND with a weaker mill infront of marginal trannys stuff, ya never notice it.
BELIVE ME anyone who has 3.4 swapped & gone thru the following tranny crisis...
after a tranny rebuild, they are SO HAPPY AGAIN!
Believe me, a goofed up tranny job should not prevent ya from this swap.
YOU MAY BE THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS A STICK AND NO TRANNY PROBLEMS AFTER THE 3.4 swap.
But why take chances, right?
Clutch assembly is in your hands while swapping mills.
I've got over 10,000 miles on this Firebird combo & no complaints at all!
The plus is, learn from past errors of others!
You only benefit from our mistakes.

Cool deal Dale. I really want to do the 3.4l swap too. I reckognized that tire tread - Nitto 450s - the tread design was what sold me.
I would be very interested in how the 3.4l performs compared to the 2.8l. I'm assuming that in the pic that is the S10.

Thanks for comment agood. She was not dressed to be "helping" but I had most the work done, and not likely to get hurt. Why not get a kodak moment???
As for swap, 2 days, 100 miles, no tranny problems other then my rusty shifting. Been a while!!!
As for how I like the swap. I have some bugs to work out. But I lost low end power, and I want it back!!!! BAD!!!! I had to much before really, but I want to beable to leave a 2nd gear mark when I choose, like before. Otherwise, not bad so far.
Nitto 450's, yep. Great on dry pavement, suck *** on wet.
Gottem on dodge for few more months too.

Hoses Underneith?? Are you talking fuel lines, or them good for nothing anti-freeze lines?? I don't have either that would be going under the intake. Only lines I have in that area are vacume, which is nothing similer to the 2.8/3.1l.
Speaking of vacume. Should my guage be dead steady, or should it twitch a little??
