Distributor Rebuild Questions...
Shim kit... what manufactorer, and part number?
What parts are needed? New ICM/Cap/Rotor/Wires/Plugs already... I just want to pull, clean, and shim it to correct clearances.... what do I need?
Thanks!

well for a complete overhual. i prefer to replace the oilite bushings. reshim. and replace the pickup and icm. also demagnatizing the reluctor wheel is pretty usefull to. i use a tape deck head demagnitizer to do that. works good if you let it sit for an hour os so.
Have ya searched for my distributor rebuild article?
It's a bloody simple mission.
I replaced the pick up coil, added a new chevy small block distributor gasket along with the new distb. shaft "O" ring.
Cleaned everything & adjusted for tightness & close tolerences, lubed, slipped back together, dropped in car & enjoyed the results.
Was a very worth while project, just knowing the good stuff done to ignition, tho somethimes ya just can't tell it made a difference.
First rain storm, ya know ya did a good mission, tho.
I never heard/thought of demagnitized a part. Tho I haven't done it on mine (I rebuilt mine over 3 years ago) I can't see it making too much of a difference.
Not doubting, mind you.
