tv cable ajustments
where the TV cable attach's to the bracket by the throttle body, there will be a clip/button thingy on the back, push that in and then pull the TV cable toward the firewall.
Then with the engine off, open the throttle all the way up with your hand, you should hear some clicking noises.
Your done.
(this is assuming you actually know what your TV cable is)

it would be the cable that comes out of your wall in your room and goes to the back to the tv...DUH!...lol im not sure what one is either, but i thought it was in the transmission
The "TV" stands for " Throttle valve" e.g. detent cable or kick down cable.
While under hood look at your throttle body. You will see a throttle cable and the "TV" cable. They both pass thru a bracket bolted close by. Follow the cables to their end. The TV cable will come from the tranny. Once you find the TV cable, locate the bracket that holds it close to the throttle body. Look on the back side of this bracket you will see a button that is shaped like a "D" inside of a housing that the TV cable passes thru. Press this in and slide the ribbed section of the cable back thru the bracket until it is flush with the bracket.Don't pull it out to far. It won't hurt, just more to add to the aggrevation.
Now, different people will say different, from inside the car press the throttle pedel slowly to the floor. What this does is resets the cable. You should hear the cable clicking while it "slides" thru the bracket.
Others will tell you to open the throttle from the outside. Which is fine. But from inside you get a better(IMO) setting to match the pedel.
When you finish, you can "fine tune" to your liking. If it shifts to soon, pull the cable out a click or two until your happy. If it's too late push it in.
Sorry I don't have any pics to show you.
Hope this help.

From the "Technical Articles" section, off the thirdgen.org main page, under the "Transmission" subsection: https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/detent.shtml (Written by a former v6 member that used to hang out here) But technically, it's NOT a detent cable, although people might call it that.
TV = throttle valve (like Kevin said), it controls line pressure (fluid pressure) inside the trans. The fluid pressure is responsible for keeping your trans alive, and fluid pressure also controls downshifts.
[edit] Tips!
1) Using Scoob's picture, See where "D" (slider) goes into "C" (adjuster)? Make a mark on "C" where it goes into "D". I use a razor blade to make a thin line; you can also use white-out. Why? Say you've been running with misadjusted line pressure for all these years, and your trans is now burnt up. Putting your TV cable to it's proper setting will make your trans act up like you wouldn't believe. By making this mark, if things do act up, you can put the slider back to where it was.
2) I've always had to use a screwdriver to push the metal tab in.
3) This is one of those things you should do yearly as part of the major tuneup, which also includes changing your trans fluid & filter. 700r4's run hotter then other transmissions, and heat kills trans fluid, not mileage. (Er, well, mileage will kill it too, but chances are, the heat will ruin the fluid first.
