Time for bigger injectors
Time for bigger injectors
Well, my car will be running shortly and 3.1 fuel injectors seem wimpy so what kind/# of injectors should I get? I will have an open exhaust at the headers till I get my pacesetter headers, custom Y-pipe and a dynomax catback. Mods in siggy

Any injector will make your car run rich, or lean, unless you recalibrate the prom. You might look into that, otherwise, a set of 19s are what you need. Ford 5.0 HO (Mustangs) or 305 TPIs

FYI-From what I hear, the Ford injectors have a better design than the GM injectors.

Ha ha....hey, they all work the same. Just different pintle designs, thats the difference. I hear the F*rd injectors have better pintle designs so they atomize and deliver the fuel better.

It's funny how I used to be F*rd prejudiced too..til I bought one! I had respect for that old motor. Yeah it was a POS...it had been BEATEN for 147,000 miles....run on nitrous.. Had a cylinder low on compression. Had gone many miles it seemed without oil changes. Burned a quart every 1000 miles. Was filled up with sludge. Ran 14.5 at 95. Not bad for a motor on its last leg eh?

The way I look at it...once you own one, then you've got the right to give them sh*t all the time. Lol...my buddy Dave and I have a running joke. Dave has an 11 second stang, N/A and non-nitrous.....2 mpg on race fuel only... It's not a joke really...it's just funny because he's got one of the baddest @ss cars on the road here and he's always agreeing with me when I say "G*d d*mn Fords!"
I said 305s because there is no Fords at the JY I go to (GM Sports Salvage) and I also owned a Ford (89 Thunderbird) never bashed it once and it never caught on fire unlike both my Camaros!
