Yep its cool. I ripped all of mine out and the car is much happier.
I did remove the parts nicly but I removed everything not important and just dead weight.

There's a sensor that you'll need to stick a wire into... it's the a/c hard line that's bolted to the passenger side's main frame rail. That's the high pressure switch- it opens when there's high pressure, and turns on the fan. So when you unhook the connector, your fan will come on (when the engine's running). So just stick a piece of wire into the connector.
Otherwise, no problems except for an ugly looking "empty" a/c compressor bracket! I've driven my car without a/c since 1996...
