Alcohol in the gas tank?

I have heard a few things about there being some benefit to putting alcohol into the gas tank.

Does anyone know more on this subject? I don't know anything about it, but I would love to know the pros and cons.

don't do it. i just put up a post about running an alcohol injection system... alcohol (i'm assuming you do mean the racing fuel ) will not mix with gasonline. i am wondering about spraying it with gas though. but, the alcohol and gas will not mix and you must burn a lot more alcohol to even run than you do gas.

Everything I ever heard was about rubbing alcohol (100%) I don't know about the racing gas or what, I am just curious if anyone here has done it, and why.

rubbing alcohol is used for dry gas, same thing but cheaper, more, better. BUt as it goes right now 91% is the most I can get in the store anymore. No big deal really. Some gas already has 10% acohol.

The acohol will suck water out of your gas/ gas tank n lines and it does have a cleaning quality.

Alcohol also burns REALLY clean. I just got my Fiances car to pass smog by adding a little racing fuel to the gas. Only about 1 gallon to a 15 gallon tank, that way it doesn't burn too hot and kill the motor. passed with flying colors, now with a new fresh tank of 87 it runs better than before(don't know what else it cleaned out, but what the hell)
