No rear sway bar?

Why does my 89 Camaro have a rear sway bar and my 85 Camaro doesn't?

85 should have one.

BTW, I have some 1991 FE1 swaybars on ebay for sale. End sunday REALLY CHEAP too.

Found my swaybar chart

1985 F41 suspension, should have a 18mm rear, 30mm front.

My 1991 FE1's are 32mm front, 18mm rear.

Dale, about those sway bars... are those the same as the IROC sway bars and such? I never heard of FE1 or F41. Thanks!

Thanks, I was worried for a sec. I heard 36mm up front with 24mm in the rear is the best?

All depends what your setup is (other components, and weight bias) I run 34mm solid front and 25mm solid rear on my V6. Front springs are 800lbs(stock is somewhere near 500) rear springs are 225lbs.

I installed 34mm front, and 24mm rear on stock springs. IMO, back is just a smidgen to powerful. But I like

FE1 was weekest set for 91

You have different suspension codes. Includes swaybar sizes, and coil spring stiffness and height.

Get the biggest factory ones you can for the front & rear and you'll be set. Hell you'll notice a difference just by putting any 'ol bar on, not just a big bar. And any trans am or z28 (any year) will have a larger rear bar then stock v6/v8 bars... the rear bar off that '84 trans am 3.73/posi/disc axle of mine is a 23mm bar.

I have a 24 mm rear bar for my car but it does not have a rear sway bar currently. What do I have to do so that I can mount a rear sway bar? Help please!!!

All you need from a junkyard is the side brackets (inside the wheel well) for the end links, and the brackets that mount the bar to the axle. They look like regular exhaust clamps but they're not; the flat part is "notched" to fit the axle. There are two pieces of metal, one on each side of the axle, that are welded to the tube. These pieces help locate, and keep from spinning, the mounting bushings.

Then just get new end links from Summit and new greasable (or not) "universal" mounting bushings. I've given part #'s before, just do a search, or look them up at http://www.energysuspension.com 's "Application Guide", in the lower left corner of their menu.

And if you have a Firebird just go under "Camaro" on that website, same stuff. Then either call Summit Racing at 800-230-3030 and ask for a stock/price check, or look it up at http://www.summitracing.com .

Can anyone give me any pictures of the parts that I need so that I will know for sure what to get, and/or part numbers of what I need from GM or something. What I have so far is the sway bar and Spohn part #PolyRearSB-24-F which is:24 mm rear sway bar bushings and end links. What else do I need?
