I'm just about a 100% sure that our engine isn't a roller...just about 100%. While you'ev got the motor out a cam wouldn't be a big hassle, but what'st he price of the rebuild kit? And how close would it come to the 500 bux for a new Short Block, then re-use ur heads and get them ported, decked, milled, etc. Then add the cam to the new block, let it run like a champ, and have a good time w/ a trusty new engine. Or , was there any reason you hadn't considered (or had u considered) the 3.4L swap, i know if i didn't mention it, Ked might come and jump in on this swap so hopefully i've beat him to it.

im on kind of a money restriction bieng that i dont make a whole lot
i cant really see the point of a new block since mine onl has 74k but if it is the lifters that is the problem and new cam would go in make the idle a little lumpy

If you just wanted to rebuild the engine to factory specs, going with a shortblock would be the best bet.
But if i was you, i would definatly consider 10.5:1 compression pistons, that will give you a nice heathly boost in power along with a camshaft. A 3.1/3.4 crank would also give you a nice boost in power.
Definately take this into consideration while you have the block already out and before you buy the parts you need. It will save you alot of money in the long run.
i was already thinkin bout a 3.4 crank and a new cam i dont know weather i try to find one in a junk yard and take it to the machine shop along with the block but im only gonna rebuild it if the lifters are screwed hopfully it is just a loose rocker or two
