To chip or not to chip?

That is the question..... (if you all didn't see that one comming from millions of miles away! )

Well tonight I removed the Hypertech chip from my car. I have been having some shifting hesitations and torque converter lockup issues lately, and my first thought before trying anything else was to remove the chip from my car.

Looks as though it has solved the problem, I am going to test it tomorrow again.

After taking the chip out and driving for a bit the car feels like it doesn't pull as much. I'm not sure if this is just me thinking it and over-analyzing or what.

Now my question to you guys is are you guys running aftermarket chips in your cars? And if so what kind are you running and what's your thoughts on it?

Thanks!!

I have a fastchip stage 2 i paied 40 or 50 bucks for it a while back i noticed a little gain with it not much to brag over but it did get rid of my 120 govener which i do like. Does your car buck at cetrin rpm's? at around 1500 when you are doing 45 MPH just curious my car does not like to go certin speeds between 43-47 and 65 and 75 all other speeds seem ok.

I wish my car had less miles i have a 91 with 225,000 miles MSD 6al, MSD coil, Underdrive pullys "do this mod you will enjoy it i jsut did the crank pully alt didnt make any difference and caused chargeing problems" I have slotted rotors with new calipers brakelines and zrated pads stops great. I have some othermods i just cant think. Oh yah i have a CAI but im goign to try the ram air intake again. I also did *** know what elese to my car.

Funny you mention the underdrive pulley setup. I actually have a set here with alt and crank, but I was always afraid to do it. Maybe now that I hear someone else with a similar setup has one I'll do it finally!

My car would buck when it's in gear, I could rev it just fine, but the first time driving it each morning would be rough. The throttle would be jumpy as I pressed it, and then inbetween shifts it would bog a little then jump back up, and also the torque converter would not lock in 4th gear. But then after driving it once at the beginning of the day it would be more or less fine for the rest of the day. I never understood...
