If you have a Berlinetta, is it a rare car, maybe, however, rare and desirable are 2 different things. When someone goes to buy a rare car, they look for something low mileage and desirable. No offense, but I highly doubt that there will ever be a collector in search of a V6 berlinetta anytime in the future.
BTW, GM didnt' keep track of color combinations or tranny combinations. SO as far as finding out how many manual black coupes, you're out of luck unfortunately. I want to know how many Ultra Blue Metallic 91 Z28 Convertible's made, but I'm out of luck too. Only thing I know is mine is 1/3,203 but even then that's not rare.

looks like a 90rs v6 is quite low make also.
myself, I would love to find a 4cyl camaro in fixable condition.
of course, I would have to find a place to keep it

Pasky, yep, the Berlinetta got the digital "stand-up" swivel radio, and a digital dash. I think it also had an extra improvement done to the suspension, not sure.
IF your information was NOT obtained from "The Genuine Camaro White Book", here's the scoop!
I'll type exactly what is for this question:
77,468 V6 - 114,741 V8 - Total=192,219
The Berlinetta model, introduced to the Camaro line up in 1979, was available at the beginning of the model 1986 production year, then was discontinued. Chevy invested heavily in the Berlinetta, especially with the introduction of it's futuristic instrument panel & unique radio options in the 1984 models. The intent was to build a luxury segment for Camaro (WOMEN BUYERS) sales equivalent to the performance segment buyers attracted to the Z28. But several factors doomed the Berlinetta concept. Replacing analog instrument displays with digital, and adding complicated, automated radio controls were a Detroit trend that the motoring press & the public never warmed to. In retrospect, the Berlinetta was also introduced in an era when High Performance began to come back into fashion. Buyers either wanted a high performance Camaro or one that looked the part (think paint schemes & decals). For 1986 BERLINETTA SOLD JUST 4,479 (RPO1FS87) A Type LT designation was returned to the lineup the following year (1987 model year) as a Berlinetta replacement, but without the Berlineta controversial instrument panel.
Part Two
The base 4 cylinder engine for Sport Coupe models was listed as 88HP, but this engine was on constraint early, then cancelled, requiring an upgrade to V6 RPOL88 for SPORT COUPES. The BASE BERLINETTA ENGINE was the V6 (thus only 4,479 BERLINETTA were sold! NOT 4,479 V6 engines in Camaros). The Base V8 for Z28 was 305.
Comprende?
