What I've done to make this swap happen:

Pull out entire 2.8 harness, including ecm.
Rewire dash to accept 88 cluster & the full VSS things
Swap out 700-4R & 3.4 to be replaced by the 4L60E & 3800

Still need to do:
-Fab up motor mount brackets (I have an idea on how to reuse the 2.8 mounts)
-Reconnect fuel feed & return lines
-Waiting on someone to move & get address to get "new" 4th gen evap can
-"Make" radiator hoses that will fit
-Relocate battery to pass side (batt cables on harness are for that side)
-See if my rebent tranny lines will work, or if I cain use the 4l60E lines (they might not match up due to differences in engine bays)
-VATS/PASS-KEY (already have a lead on that)

probably some more little stuff that will come up, that those are the biggies for now.

would you think it would be easier to just go to an lt1? i am going to be getting rid of my 99 Z28 and keeping the 87( cant get rid of it love it to much) and i wanted to do an engine upgrade. but it appears the 3.4 will be easier i really wanted to get this swap done in about 3 days. so any good ideas where i can get a 3.4?

Depends on how much you get w/the swap. Mine was actually a pretty good deal. Also depends on what you're looking for ( I'm a Poncho 400 (or bigger) man myself ). Check out the engine swap forum on info fo rthe LT1 wap, hatian boatloads of info.

As far as the 3.4 donors, 93~95 F-body w/them, or victoms of melted/fudged up engine harnesses w/3.4s in them like myself
