well the end result is that there was no screw up on my part. Some of you might remember a long time ago i had some ignition related problems, they were basically hesitation, horrible starting, hesitation, and more hesitation ... the engine had some misses, etc.

so i went on an ignition fixing frenzy, until i finally tracked what i believed was the problem down to the PU coil, and i changed it, re-installed distributor (to close to same spot) and drove home....but the car woudln't get over 40 mph, thought oh no, it's broke....also the car had some horrible starting problems, crank crank crank freeze , crank crank crank but w/ a little gas it had no problem coming to life. Well i talked to a mechanic who tried to set the timing, but said it was bouncing to much to do so, so i changed the plug wires off (he suspected one bad) then i took the car back there 1 month later (time it took for winter break) and guess what, car works (not well on the drive over) after the timing being set worked perfectly fine. Drove it around, and its ok...

only downfall on the car right now, is a broken vacuum line going to the EGR system, i was able to plum a lttle new piece of line in it, but the line isn't strong enough to hold up w/ the vaccum and will collapse under it, because of this i'm having a bit of a backfire issue (atleast i think that's where my small problem is) and the acceleration isn't quite as good as it could be, but i'm thinking both of these are the same prob. Neway, biggest issue fixed, and car is finally dirveable again....

GOT THAT RIGHT!!!!
Serious, ya need Windshield Wiper Hose, it's thicker walls prevent exactly what ya got happening.
Packages cost like $2 or so.
To make the ends fit on the smog part, make sure that connecting section part is also new hose.
I went thru what ya suspect & it's PITA.
Finally got my smog hose set up & stuff to cooperate well. Yes, that mission took a while, too. Keep at it.
1985 is the MPFI foundation for all the later years.
Check the fuel lines from tank, as they may be damaged. Or perhaps the hose to the fuel pressure regulator may be funky!

Might as well stick this here just incase....

Yeah I wonder whom I swiped it from?!?
Glad that could give ya inspiration!
I also used needle nose pliers to remove the broken plastic ends stuck inside the hose.
