Will fourth gen rims fit okay without spacers?
Do they fit alright without any problems without the spacers? I need some new rims and can't really find the ones im lookin for but i've seen some nice fourth gen rims going pretty cheap but i don't want to spend 300 for some spacers =/. Thanks.

no, you need a 4th gen rear or spacers 2"front and 1.8" for the rear, you can play with different rear sizes to place the wheels where you want them..

Probably already know the answer to this but can I take the spacers off a fourth gen car and slap them on mine? THanks again.

get on ebay, type in AFS Wheels, you'll find a maze of corvette, Gran Sport, Trans Am, and CAmaro wheels, not to mention many many mustang wheels (cobra normally) as well, you should be able to pickup a full set of 4 for around 400-600 bux depending on size, color, and bidding....the same wheels with tires may run ya 800-1000 but it's cheaper than a dealer, where'd you'd expect to pay more than 1000 for the wheels alone. Heck TQ Thrust II's are close to 250 a wheel i believe, and that's for maybe 16's?

Yea, just did and thanks for the advice, however just about everyone are fourth gen, and I wouldn't mind getting them and the adaptors, its just I have to calculate tires too =/.

Right now you can get ROH ZS's in thirdgen spacing sized 17X8.5 for around 160-175 a piece depending upon where you go. They're discontinued, so forget ordering them....you'll have to find someone with stock.

Don't you have to go out 3-4 inches or change the bolt pattern before you need a price billet spacer???

Pasky, go on ebay and get some 6RD" billet aluminum hell 6L" will do it. You then call machine shops in your area, and ask them how much to cut them to length (cheap) then put a 5X4.75 ON CENTER patern drilled. You will have to be VERY SPECIFIC, on what you want from them. Take them some wheel studs so they can get the Diameter holes needed to pass the threads through, counter them 1" in. on both ends.
I am not going to speak for shops in your area, but one local to me charged me a grand total of $50, and that was using HIS aluminum.
OK, maybe some of you haven't seen the spacers everyone's talking about. The're really not spacers as much as they are adapters. These aren't something you slide on, they bolt on!!!!. Then they have their own lug nut posts on top. It's not something you can pic up at autozone.
Yes Snypers will fit, but call someone who knows what you need as far as backspacing. THey'll send you the right ones.

They're like these. You want some good ones so you don't mess stuff up.

Hmm, I talked to the guy I'm ordering rims from today, and Eibach actually just came out with a different setup.
THey give you different lug bolts that you put in and they're longer (kinda like the studs you have to use in IHRA to run slicks) and then you actually slide a spacer (still 2' thick) onto them, then bolt the rim on.
Oh, and he has lotsa ROH ZS's 17X8.5's left in thirdgen spacing for $160/piece

Ive seen them kits befoe near the lug nuts. Longer studs and a spacers 1 or 2 for $20.
I believe you only need fancy adapters if your gonna go 4in+ or change bolt pattern.
I believe 2in and under
longer lugs and a cheap uni spacer is plenty. The lugs can handle it fine.

Last time I touched a pair of them was at a western auto that is now parts america. It was in the tires section at one with a big service center.
