2.8 Problem

Parked my firebird in the garage tonight and did some break work. I put new shoes in the back. I also put new wheel clyinders in. Now just need to bleed them. Now for the problem. I go to start the car. It starts runs right up to 1500 rpm like it usually does. Then dives down to 500 rpm and then lower then the car stalls. There was a ton of blue smoke also. Tried to start it again and just sputtered like it wanted to start. Then nothing, and just kept turning over. My fuel pump is working. I don't know what to do. I know I am getting spark. Any ideas?

The car is a 1988 Firebird 2.8 Multi-Port. It has a 5 spd also.

Blue smoke is never a good sign. That generally means oil. Check your oil and water for contamination...maybe it's a head gasket problem. It's hard to imagine it would run fine and turn off and then give you problems like that after just sitting there though.... You usually have to be really beating it to have something like that happen.
