Ok, tell me if im going in the right order, first take off the valve covers, then remove the intake manifold, then pull the rockers off (how? i cant figure that out) then loosen up the 8 bolts to take the head off the block. Im pretty sure im doing it in order right, but how do u get the rockers off? I see one bolt on each one but i wanna make sure thats what i take off. And, on the front of the motor how to i get the timing chain cover off? do i have to take off the lower crank pully, and the harmonic balancer?

thanks for all your help guys

no, you have to take the upper and middle intake off first, it lays over the valve covers. then take the valve covers off, they bolt down the lower intake manifold. then you can take the rocker arms off, they are just held down my one nut on the rocker stud.

for the timing cover, you have to take the waterpump, power steering pump, and any other accessories that are bolted to the cover off. you have to pull the harmonic balancer as well. the waterpump bolts hold on the top half of the timing cover.

thatll do ya

Yup

To take the rockers off you loosen the nut in the middle of each rocker arm. As for the timing cover, You need to obtain a puller. Remove the pulleys by taking out the 4 bolts holding them to the damper. Onece the pulley is off set up the puller and remove the damper (I had to use an impact gun). After that is off it's pretty self explanatory. One more thing, use plenty of silicone when putting the cover back on.

two above me basically have it. However on my 3.1 just the power steering pump is the only accessory that needs to be removed to get the timing cover off.
