Whats wrong?

I've noticed that some times when I stop at a red light, my RPM's will drop below 500 and then slowly reach zero and the engine just dies. Is it because there isnt enough air or fuel getting to the engine? Or is it something else?

you car is doing what two other members cars are doing right now, (im one of them) i think it has something to do with the iac.
Its as if the car is getting no air when your foot is off the gas.
When i unplug my iac my idle goes up, too far up But the car doesnt die at lites. When its plugged in it idles too low and dies at lites.

For now untill i go get a new iac im driving with it unplugged and the idle screw udjusted all the way back.
Louder? actually id like to find a muffler that sounds good on a 2.8 that makes it louder also. All the ones i've heard make it sound like a lawn mower crossed with a dremel.

I get asked what all I've done to my 305

Not all loud, but rumbles except that exhaust leak

Loud, glasspack or flowmaster

Can I just poke a hole into some where that will create a louder noise? I dont want to go buy new parts in order to make my car louder.

You're joking right? Poke a hole, don't do that, it will sound like crap. I actually dislike the sound of my dynomax now that I have a custom ypipe and no cat. It sounds raspy and at 2500 rpms starts to make a rattling sound that goes away at 3000 and it sounds almost like a r!ce rocket at higher rpms. But what are you going to do. I don't feel like spending any more money on the V6.

Hey Man!
I am having the same problem. Check out my post "breaks??? stalling????" I took my IAC out tonight and cleaned up the whole throttle body with carb cleaner. I have to get a gasket for the IAC tomorrow and will hopefully be able to see if that fixed the problem. I know that carbon builds up on it eventually. Mine was pretty bad shape. Yank yours old and soak the whole unit in carb cleaner, and reinstall it and see what happens. Good Luck

only soak the tip of the IAC in cleaner. you don't want to fudge up the electronics in it.
