Gas
Hey guys whats up I just got my camaro last week and i noticed that My gas milage wasnt nearly as good as what you guys are getting of course i did just get it and my old car was a pile of junk so this is more power than ive ever had so ive been squeeling the tires and stuff, you know the fun stuff. And its seems im only getting like around 180 miles for a full tank. Im not hot rodding it around that much. Maybe once a day i may squeal the tires thats it. And also I was putting my speakers in and let the car run for maybe 20 minutes and i went through a 1/4 tank of gas. With gas bing 1.70 a galon i was pretty F'en pissed and gave up on the speakers. How is this possible. I havent done Tomps tuneup yet havent gotten around to it yet but do you think this coudl be the problem. Also if this helps the check engine light was on and i Tested it and it was the MAT ( which shoudlnt be a problem) the MAP (Which might be a problem) and My EGR or a Vacume problem. Do you think any of these may be the reason for the over use of gas. Thanks

Well, the truth of the matter is that an engine out of tune will not run in tip-top shape, nor get the fuel effeciency that a well tuned engine will....best bet, get a major tune up done on that car, make that car run the way it should. Then you can start hunting down problems. You can't fix the problemed areas and hope to gain millage, if ur plugs are fouled over, spark is arcing off the wires, etc etc....So, tune it, then optimize it for better running. good luck.
