i was looking at my cars info using the vin number and it says that the car has a v6 HO now im guess that is high output, did chevy even have a 2.7L v6 HO? and if they did what are the specs on it, would i be right in thinking it would be rare?

yes there are HO's
The HO was actually a 2.8 designation, surprisingly enough. The HO is what ALL of the MPFI models were considered. The only reason they are HO's is because of the Valve sizes being larger than the carbed models (or so I read).

Ditto all MPFI cars are HO though the fiero got HO stamped valve cover I believe.
You could also say any MPFI 2.8 is HO no matter what it came in. car truck van

Yep, and the MPFI also got a better camshaft along with the larger-port heads.
The "HO" was really for the '85 models, and it was dropped for 86-up. There was even an '84 HO 2.8 that was carb'd, but I don't know anything about that one.

lets see if my memory is correct, 84 HO carbed engine was HO because it actually had heads more similar to the later model v6's w/ the same size exhaust ports as the later versions. don't know if the 85 would have recieved this engine plus fuel injection, if so, it might account for the extra 5 lbs of torque.
