Strut brace for V6's
hey I bought this kenny brown strut tower brace from year one and I found out later on that they didn't fit v6's......But I didn't return it..All I need to do is custom fabricate a couple of spacers that will help with the installation....any body have any advise?
I'm going to work on it this weekend, so if you want to know how it works let me know and I'll get back with some more feedback and instructions....as exact as possible.

That doesn't make any sense. it should fit no matter what engine is in it. They all attach to the body and the body is same for all engines.
Only problem I could see is if it was a V6 brace going on an 8 but not the other way around.

Actually, our v6 engine is taller, however that's not the problem. the problem is with the fuel lines and the compressor. The engine is a lot shorter than the v8 so when you try mounting it it won't reach the chasis because the fuel lines are in the way.
Strangly enough I test fitted it with wooden blocks and there is no clearence problems regarding the hood closing. but the time to fabricate something and if I might add must be done right the first time is a headache.

I have the kenny brown 3-point strut brace......I like the fit of yours, but I would like the three point. What kind is yours, because I might just sell this one if it's going to be too much hassle.

its 50/50 split. some people like the 3 point some people do not.
Why? the cowl lip is not very strong and using it for a brace point isn't all that smart.
Though no one has said they had trouble with a 3 point.
I wonder what it does in a wreck or small 25-30 mhp collision.

Them 3 points look nicer but I think they are just made that way to sell things for more. With a STB like above and the other brace for the front frame n steering box should be more than plenty.
