i have friend who just acquired a 1992 firebird with a V6 engine and we were going over the engine compartment and it looks like there might be a bolt missing from the valve head cover and my guide books have no detailed pics to show as to rather or not if there should a bolt to hold up the exaust valve on the drivers side
,so any help would be greatfully appreciated!...thanks in advance.

yes thats the exhaust manifold...and there should be one there. however someone might have replaced the gasket and snapped one off in the head, so if the bolt dont thread in, you know why. if its not leaking and you cant get a bolt in it, dont worry about it until it leaks, then getready to start drillin.
