Steering

When I'm parking and i turn all the way to the left or right the car makes a really weird creeking noise and i can feel it in the steering wheel. It just does a really loud creeking noise for a couple seconds right when i turn it all the way and then stops, any idea what that is?

I had same problem with hard turns. It was lower ball joints. The 3rd gen do not have upper ball joints. However, if you tear in to replace, take a good look at tie rods, struts, end links, springs, and bushings. I replaced my struts(bad), tie rods, and balljoints(bad) and now I think my upper struts bearing on driver's side is bad as front end makes noises as before replacement, no sounds at all. Bottom line, if you tear in, examine hard aqnd replace all instead of having to go in again and (hopefully not), a third or fourth time.

sure it's not just the power steering? Yeah it may be too obvious, but sometimes the easy things get overlooked.

Had a similar noise; turned out the passenger side's upper strut mount was shot- the bearing was gone. It kinda melted itself into a bushing. I replaced everything (and I mean everything) related to the front suspension at the same time.

6cyl92, how often do you do lube jobs?

Someone in the suspension forum noticed that 3 of 6 bolts holding the "subframe" in was missing. Might want to check that.

Rag joint in steering shaft dry rotted?

Control arm bushings bad?

Ball joint.

With the car jacked up, lower it onto jackstands placed underneath the lower control arms. Physically inspect the boot on the ball joint. Then you can place a pry bar under the tire and try to lift up on it. If it moves, your ball joint is shot.

try fluid level or the belt tension, may need a new one, sounds simple enough
