Trunk and Starter

The other day i went to my trunk and tried to open it and when i turned the key i could feel it catch like it usually does but it felt like the key just slid by and the trunk didnt open. I've been trying to open it for the past week and it's still not wokring. I dont have a release inside the car and i want to get this fixed what do you guys think it is and what can i do to fix it.

Also if when i try to start my car it just clicks a bunch of times does that mean i need a starter?
Thanks
Mitchell

Sounds like a starter. The motor may have skipped a gear it sound slike it is working. If you disconnect the battary it will pop with out using the motor.

The battery is at around where it usually is, and the car was istting for 7 tyears and just got fixed do you think that corroded wires would be whats wrong.

i'd check the battery cables and connections for tightness, if they're good use some jumper cables.
