Headers that will work

i was on the 3rdgen.org and they said that headers for a 3.4 will bolt up to our 2.8 and 3.1 but that you will need a custom y pipe. is this true?

yup, after you beat on them with a hammer . They can be made to fit, but they will have to be modified. Best to wait for pacesetter to come out with the ones for our motors

Give him a shout and also say thanks to him for helping us 3rd Gens!
Attached is the prototype of the finished product which is now, street legal and available.
It was Pace Setter Exhaust that made the 3.4 for 4th gen street legal & they modified the product to help us 3rd gen.
This product fits auto/stick 2.8/3.1/3.4 in a 3rd gen!
Mr. Fred Gerle will be happy to assit ya in their products.
I plan on the entire system one day very soon!
Engine to tail pipe!

i've heard contradictory statements, so i'll ask you fellow 3rd genners.. does the engine need to come out so you can put headers on? there seems to be quite a bit of room under the hood so is it possible just to take some stuff out and work around the rest?

no, the engine doesn't need to come out. it would still be hard to put back in with the headers on. it is easy with the heads off though.

does anyone know the sizes for the primaries and collectors on those headers??

i can't wait to get a 3.4 and put a set of those headers with the y-pipe on it. My dad keeps telling me I should replace my exhaust manifold gasket (it leaks), but i don't have time right now unless i get my nova on the road and use that as a driver for a little bit. That needs a little work too though.

Finally got a job, now i'm working mainly on getting good at it so I can make some bank.

i found out that the pacesetter headers have 1.5" primaries and 2.5" collectors. good news for me but bad news for the stock motors. anyone know if you can get them without the y-pipe? reason i ask that is that there y-pipe will do no good in my car, my exhaust is routed differently.

Wow. What headers do they look like? None that I've seen.

Hey, IROC57TPI, how many sets of those PF&E headers have you sold? I'm amazed at your attitude - you've completely established yourself as an ignorant, biligerent *****. Way to go!

I, for one, would never do business with anyone that is so obviously critical of another's work, or what they choose to do with their time/money. You are in NO position to try to dictate what is, or is not, a waste of time to us V6'ers. I'm certainly not the voice of all V6'ers here, but I do feel you are totally wasting our time, and board space.

To tell the truth, I am not impressed with Pacesetter's quality, in the least - but hey, at least they are helping us, the small (and loyal) V6 clan out.

Please, take your trash talking elsewhere.

You do realize you were put on probation less than 24 hours ago.. this is not a good way to show you care.

And you win the dumb dumb award!

I've questioned the quality of the headers before but to be put on probation and then make a comment like you have is just stupid.

And whats up with this Temporarily Suspended
? I thought the next step was being banned?

How do the pacesetter headers look like another brand? Wasnt they made from cutting some other pacesetter headers up and rewelding and routing them?

For the prototype, yes they were. I will be money that the production releases will have less joints.

I emailed them this week as to when to expect, etc. No word back as of yet.

Why because KED got a product made?
Sorry, but 5.7's pressing of headers is getting on my nerves.
And to trash talk another member is one thing, if it was a worthless member, But I have read these boards long before I joined. Ked has helped out a whole lot more then 5.7 ever did, or ever will.

Hey neat, headers. Just one more reason to NOT sell the V6 'Bird I have. I could give it some go-fast goodies, like one of those CompuCams (any good?) and give it a custom intake and now, we have headers! Too cool. I bet a V6 car would kick butt on autocross... Wonder what the wife will think...

EDIT: I have to wonder about some people. I mean, after being warned repeatedly, they continue to flap their jaw in an awesome display of ignorance and intolerance. Must be an air of superiority, because he has a V8 between their fenders. Why, did he design and hand-build the thing?
