Valve Cover Gasket ???
Hey guys I need to put on a new set of valve cover gaskets. Question is do I or should I use some gasket sealer in between gasket and head?

When I helped my friend replace his 2.8, we used blue RTV as the valve cover gasket. Couldn't tell you how well it worked against leaks, since he junked the car after a few weeks (sigh)

Ok guuys I have looked these valve covers over and this don't look like its going to be easy changing these things out. Will I have to remove the air intake manifold and the throttle body to get to the top bolts on the valve covers. And remove the ignition coil and everything else blocking the passenger side valve cover. Man all I want to do is replace my valve cover gaskets not do a complete engine tear down
Any suggestions would really come in handy!!!
Thanks!

Here's one- are you sure it's the valve cover gasket leaking, and not the distributor o-ring? If the dist o-ring leaks, oil can get all over the back of the motor.
And if it is a visible leak from the side of the valve gasket cover... you could always try spraying that area with brake cleaner, drying it with a rag, and then squishing blue RTV in around the leak to "hopefully" stop the leak. You'd need to spray brake cleaner first because RTV won't stick to oil, the brake cleaner would hose off all the oil around the leak. As soon as the brake cleaner dries (and it'll dry FAST), then when you squish some RTV in, it'll actually bond to the metal/leftover gasket/etc.
