Stock coil replaced with Accel,MSD etc.?

Hey I was wondering if any of you have replaced your stock coil with an accel or MSD coil. Which one did you go with and do you have pics. I'm putting the yellow Accel 8 mm wires and I want to replace my coil with accel and mount it to my firewall above the distributor.

Thanks guys!

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
the replacement goes right where the old one went.
You just have to drill the rivets, and buy some long screws and nuts.

Engine: Pos 2.8 pulled and replaced with a 350 tpi motor converted to carb.
Transmission: 700r4, vette servo, shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.
Or move the coil to a location with less heat. Like maybe the firewall .

I jus took a sharp edged wood scraper and hit the rivits with one good wack with a hammer they popped right on out. took 20 mins to take the old one out and bolt the new one in. Just make sure your engine is ice cold.

My stock coil died and i immedeatly went to summitracing.com and got an MSD Blaster Coil. Works great! Ignition Module would also be a good investment if you plan on really working on the car. Both are easy installs and fairly cheap. In any case have fun with whatever you do to your car.

I've put two coils in my car, neither were "direct replacements". My original one is still in it's factory spot as a "spare".

#1 was the "Accel remote HEI computerized supercoil", p/n 140008. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=ACC-140008 I made a bracket that mounted it between the top of the alternator and the top of the throttle body- it worked great for years.

#2 currently is the MSD Blaster SS coil. I bought it when I put in my MSD 6AL box; I wanted everything to be MSD. It's part number 8207. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...?part=MSD-8207 I made a bracket that's hung it off my a/c box. I used MSD's adapter # 8876, at http://store.summitracing.com/partde...?part=MSD-8876 , so I could plug my stock "spare" coil back in if I had to.

You can also use a $20 MSD Blaster 2 coil if you want to cut the factory harness wires.
