ok, as promised, little later then planned, but still as promised.
I made a page with text tips on these installs. Also a page with 10 pictures.

sucks that the stock paint burns off like it does... a friend of mine put pacesetters on his 3.4 93 camaro, and that paint came right off..

The stock paint is just so they don't rust during shipping.
Dale, thanks for the underside pics. That's friggen' scary - they've got the headers routed almost exactly like I routed the turbo Y.
What's that mean? Oh yes. Definetly turbo Y for the Pacesetter Headers.
What size are the pipes, right after the collectors?
I'm also uncomfortable with just how close the driver's side is, to the oil filter

Can you still replace the filter for oil changes even if you get the headers? Doward is right it is kind of scary...

Doward, I was told the pipe where it meats to the cat, is 2.375. Pipe appeared to be same size all the way across. So I am guessing 2.25-2.375.
Pacesetter has a car in TODAY(so they say) and are checking the oil filter problems. I have been emailing them back n forth every day. They are concerned about it!
I have not changed my oil yet in the car, still got about 500-700 miles before I do that. I will be getting a pf47 for test fit, but plan/still want to run a pf52.

Ok, so I'll have to run a small stepdown... 2.25" to 2" (duals) to 2.5" Y into turbo, 2.5" exhaust out.
Yeah, that sounds good... I've got to build exhaust velocity before it gets into the turbine - I'm liking this spool @ 1900 rpm

i thought they were supposed to have 2.5" y-pipe?!?! is that 2.375 ID or OD?
edit: i thought they had 2.5" collectors then ran 2.5 duals into a single 2.5. sounds kinda funny but that's the idea i got.

The pipe didnt appear to be any larger or smaller over where the y-pipe met up the the main headers part. I ASSUME all of the y-pipe, and where it bolts up to is same.
Another email from them. Said fixing the oil filter problem would not be an issue. Said they would keep me up to date.

it sounds like they are redesigning the left one. As far as me getting new left one, nothing has been said so far. If they do offer, I'm going to accept and inform everyone.

Cool, Pacesetter rocks! Hey they're fixing it for the PF52 filter right? And not the "early" PF47 smaller filter?
Oh well I guess they have to, so it bolts up to all 82-92 2.8/3.1's...

Tomp, I told them about the different oil filters, and what we assumed happened. They took the advice, so I assume (again) that they are fixing it for the larger filter.
I just got my cut-out cap on. Exhaust sounds really good with pacesetters, "off road y-pipe", and dynomax catback. I'll ask around and see if anyone has digi video equipment.
Not much of a raspy sound when you romp on it tell about 4500.
I have a 56sec sound clip I need hosted, someone pm me with email to send to for hosting.

ill make sure to use the link to the site you posted, thanks a lot dale. i think mine will go on after i get it painted (starts next weekend) since im doing under the hood as well, its less crap there to tape off and paint around. so hopefully within a month or so ill have them on, drive it and then park it for the winter. man i hate michigan. although, if you know michigan, i could be driving it still in january, lol.

I have no cat and the system runs straight back then turn n exits out the left with a cherrybomb glass pack and a single tip.
My car was cold and I didn't rev very far or high. maybe 2800 [Neighbors just got home from a trip today, gotta be nice.]

I dunno, it may just be the recording equipment Dale used, but it sounds alot more tinny and V6 like than Tomp's. No offense to Dale of course, just my observations.
I'm very hesistant now whether to install my headers or not because I am happy with the way the car sounds now and I don't want to change it for the worse.
I wish I could post the soundclip of my car, but I have no way to put it on the internet, unless someone knows of a free site that hosts mpeg or wav files?

while on it hard, it sounded better with manifolds.
MPG seems to have went up.
I did first oil change on it this weekend. Now, remember mine are the first set, with bad left header. I had to take it loose to get my larger filter off. I bolted back up, then put the small filter on. It fit, but tight!
Put a rag over the header pipe, cause when you pull the filter off, it drains right onto the pipe. Makes for smoke smelly mess the next time you drive it

I work with audio everday and I can assure you that the reason that Dale's exhaust sounds more "tinny" than Tom-P's is because of microphone choice, not exhaust! If I were to take that same clip from Dale and "re-master" the EQ, it would sound very rumbly on the low-end, which is probably how it sounds in real life.
I am more interested in the performance aspect. Do you notice any more "pull" when you take off with these headers? I am going to get some regardless because I snapped a manifold bolt off when I removed my Y-Pipe, but what do you guys think about the way they perform. Is it just a "sound" thing? Also, should I drop the extra $150 to get the coated ones? I see that you guys say that the paint comes off the cheaper ones. Will they rust real fast? Thanks for the feedback!

i would definately get the coated ones. the basic paint will come off pretty quick and they will start to rust.
