A 125 shot on a V6 is a lot. Some forged pistons would help.

ALOT!!! Including a rebuild with forged components, And if the engine is out you may as well go ahead and P&P everything, Get a nice set of headers (Pacesetter ) Cam that sucker, get some rockers, and pulleys and go run your self some 14s. Good Luck.

I would not go over 100. holley says 65 is safe on stock parts.

75 is safe on a 3.1 Remember, we have decent pistons, and forged steel rods - stock.

I'd say you could do a 100 shot on a well tuned, good running 2.8/3.1 - as long as you had plenty of fuel, and retard the timing a couple degrees.

Not to get off topic but i'm wondering if i got a shift kit for my auto would it still be about as equivalent in the 1/4 mile as a t5? Doward my 3.1 only has 30,000 on it do you think i could just slap a 100 shot on it if i only change the timing and fuel etc.?

Depends - I'd run a compression test on it, install a new timing chain, and do TomP's tuneup first

Nope. You can't make an auto faster than a stick, at a given power level (to a point) - the stick has less drivetrain loss - means more power always goes to the ground, with a stick. Plus the weight savings

It'll help, yes. And also add reliability to your tranny - add an external cooler, as well.

Hum, 75 shot safe, is that wet or dry kit?

And while were discussing juice. Someone explain the difference between them two, and which one is what is needed for our engines.

Wet is fuel and No2 sprayed simultaneously. I'm currently running a 50 shot wet, car wil handle more, I'm positive. The 3.4 guys have luck runnin a 125 shot...so anythings possible.

I am running a 150 wet shot right now. After ARP studs, new head gaskets, a lot of tuning and some new internals, its holding for now.

....Little on the high side...even for a forged bottom end, but it not unheard of. When you gonna get to the track and get some numbers with that?

I have already been to the track this year. It's easier to make money off of a car if people don't know what it runs. I will probably post times next year. I do need another clutch. Besides, if I posted the times, I would get flamed on the other website because no one would believe it. I was told that you would need timeslips, video footage, signed affidavids(sp?), etc.

Dunno, I thought all of the 60* motors did. You can tell ME Jerriko, I won't tell Alot of the guys at Firbird V6.com think the 3.8 is ***'s gift of somthing, I walked one in a stock S14 auto the other day, had a sticker on the back that said " Race me and Lose" LMAO! He had a 5 spd too. I had my bro in law in the car, he weighs about 200lbs, I weigh about 160.

The kit I used is for a 350 TPI setup. Just another reason why I made that custom intake.

Not sure about the price of the ZEX kit, but you could piece a good nozzle setup together for about 300-400 bucks. I've read that ZEX actually give less power than advertised, but are extremely easy to install (the noids are packed into a modue with integrated relays and merely have to attach main power and nitrous/fuel lines). Good luck, enjoy the juicy juice (and try not to waste it merging onto the freeway and such).

go with something nice and simple so you don't fry your motor or get killed, stick with a 75 wet shot, nice and safe

all this talk about nitrous has me wanting to run out and get it but I don't think my 166,000 mile motor will take it too nicely.

I second that! Aut has a 20% drivetrain loss...what about a stick?

Have not hit mine with nitrous yet. Got to get the tires to stick so I can launch first. Part of the reason is that there are some kinks we are still working out of the engine and I don't want to get ahead of myself and ruin the motor. Better safe then sorry.

Man i wish there was a track closer then an hour and a half away! I wish Atlanta Motor Speedway would wise up and put one in! I would be there all the time. Tweak and run, Tweak and run!
