Question about purchasing a 92....

92 RS Camaro (v6)
Mileage: 65,000
Price: Around 3800

Do you guys think this is a good deal? I might get this car for christmas but the only thing I dont like about it, is the color which is purple haze. It is kind of unique but I dont know, maybe itll grow on me. What do you guys think?

I say, bring it down a bit, and if it is all in good shape, I say go for it. Are you going to be driving this car a lot? If you are going to drive it a lot, get the v6. If it is only going to be a for fun car, then find a v8

I will be driving it a lot probably, so v8 might be too expensive. I am going to go look at it Saturday and if I like the color I will prolly decide to buy it.

I think thats a tad hi for a V6, only if its mint and I mean mint..Im not a big fan of a 6 cylinder camaro, generally speaking, they tend to be all show and no go... Frankly, I never understood why they made a third gen sports (looking) car, with a six banger .. A few of my friends had the V6, and liked it for a brief time, than they were all about making the V8 upgrade..And here in NJ there is only a small difference in the insurance costs..And sure there is a difference in the gas mileage, but again its a Camaro..Just my opinion..What ever you do, I wish you good luck..

I have a V6 with Purple Haze. I bought it in 2000 with 65000 on it for $2700. I'd say try to talk them down just a bit. The car grew on me. It is now my fun driver, it only sees sunlight and I have an 86' Cutlass Ciera to drive when its crappy out. Since I bought it, I have put a really nice 2500 dollar paint job on it (cost me 1300), 02 SS black leather, flowmasters, cold air intake, 16" anniversary rims, a system, and many other things. I have had a blast in the car, I'd say go for it.

I also forgot to mention, check my profile to see my car's website. It has before and after pictures in it (without the new SS seats though). But just thought I'd share. Good luck.

From what I've seen, that's too much for a V6, even though the mileage is low. Check Kelly Blue Book-www.kbb.com. They'll give you a pretty good idea of it's value. Pricing can be broken down a few different ways depending on the relative condition of the car and the type of sale--trade in, private party & dealer pricing. Good luck.

Does it have the silver Heritage stripes? If it has those (and rpo z03) it is worth the asking price. Don't ask me why -- just going by what heritage cars fetch as opposed to regular 92's

Allright guys thanks for the info. I will try to get the price down, the people who own it seem to have a lot of money and just want to sell the car. So I doubt a couple hundred bucks will affect them too much.

PimpRod - your car is nice, I am starting to like the color more than I did before. It is kind of unique, don't see if around too often.

I am going on Saturday to check out the car and probably test drive it, so I'll see what happens then.
