Vaccum Controls

Does our cars use vaccum to control the defrost and heater, etc? If they do then where is that black ball looking thing if we have one. Sorry i do not know the name of it. Thanks

The heater valve is controlled by vacuum.

The vacuum resevoir (black ball) is inside the front bumper cover under the left headlights. You can see it from under the car.

Just one vacuum hose to the ball. No other connections.

www.buy-oem-parts.com look under collision parts, cruise control system, vacuum tank. it is $15 plus shipping. They usually use UPS ground.

Or try a junkyard. Not like its an item they would want much for. Doubt many are removed either!

If you can find one in a junkyard! A pick your own part place is your best bet. Saves having to explain what you are looking for, and the odd looks "You're looking for a what?".

Here's another thread on the black ball.
